    She shakes her head.

    Tina – I never knew … Bette is my first.

    Eric – Bette is a very beautiful woman, Tina … and very charming. Are you sure it is not just an infatuation?

    Tina – I’m positive. (pause) I know it is difficult to understand. I’m still puzzled how I didn’t know before.

    He looks at her for a moment.

    Eric – Well … I guess if you fell for someone else … it’s because we were not meant to be.

    She nods sadly.

    Eric – Look I … I didn’t intend for this to happen. Bette had told me how she felt about you. I thought that I might see you here … and I thought that I could handle it.

    Tina – It’s OK.  I didn’t intend for this to happen either.

    Eric – Regardless … I always wanted to see you happy. Are you?

    Tina – Yes. (pause) Are you?

    Eric – Getting there …

    Tina – She is beautiful.

    Eric – She is. We are still getting to know each other.

    Tina – Good.

    He smiles slightly.

    Eric – Maybe I should start by asking her what she thought of Bette Porter.

    She chuckles.

    Tina – I’d be interested in knowing. (pause) Does she know about me?

    Eric – She knows that I had a breakup. (pause) Do you have any more surprises for me?

    She smiles warmly and shakes her head.

    Tina – No.

    He nods with a sad smile.

    Eric – Bette is a lucky one.

    Tina – Thank you.

    He points to the door.

    Eric – Well … Amanda is waiting.

    She nods.

    Eric – See you around.

    Tina – See you around, Eric.

    He leaves. She sighs sadly.

    Bette Porter Gallery, staff only room, night: Tina walks out of the room to find Meg waiting. They exchange a knowing look.

    Tina – I hate that I hurt him.

    Meg – It’s life, Belle. You couldn’t avoid it.

    Tina – At least now he knows everything.

    Meg – Yes, now he will move on. Come … let’s celebrate your first real coming out!

    1. Very nice…..Tina speaks her truth to Eric and reveals that she and Bette are together to Gwen. She is taking some bold steps toward coming out. I like it. I’m sure Bette enjoyed the attention in front of Gwen. Now, time to get on home to your celebration Ms Bette!!

      I love how Tina handled Eric and Gwen. She’s getting used to being out it seems.

    8. I fell so far behind in reading this and just caught up! This story brings such a smile to my face and I still love every moment of it! I’m kind of happy that I didn’t remember the whole story so that it could still feel like it was my first time reading it too but I definitely remembered this chapter!
