Bette broke eye contact, and looked around the café, feigning interest in a far corner wall on which she’d used electic, vintage frames to hang art deco Toulouse Lautrec posters from Paris in the 1920s.
“I love what you’ve done with the place, Jay. Especially that corner over there.” Lena’s voice dropped to a sultry whisper. “I wonder how it looks at night.” Yup, it did feel a tad warmer than earlier. Gotta check the cooling system, or the thermostat. “It’s a cool spot. Nice to hang out in. Umm… about the farmers. Yes, I’d be grateful, if you don’t mind? Talking t them, I mean?” she asked without looking at Lena. After a beat, she casually turned her head to look again at Jordie’s mom. Damn, still pretty. Just don’t stare like you haven’t seen a set like hers in your life.
Lena laughed, and then flicked her bangs off her face, tucking loose strands behind an ear, smiling coquettishly at Bette. Eyes as blue as the Montana sky teased her hapless brown ones. “Good hang out spot, huh?. Filing that away. Um, about the farmers, I don’t mind talking to them. And I’m their lawyer, so I fully expect they’ll follow my advice to come over and talk to you about sending some stuff over. You want to sell them, right? Not just display them?”
Display them. Nice choice of words. Bette set her empty cup down. “You’re a lawyer?”
Lena nodded, stood and picked up both hers and Bette’s cups. She swayed hypnotically from side to side as she took them to the sink. “Yes, I am. The only lawyer in town, by the way. So, if you’ll need a lawyer for anything ….” she talked as she rinsed their cups. She looked around her, then spotted the dishwasher to the right of the sink, under the steel-topped counter.
Bette picked up the scanner and pulled the tray of cappuccino cups she’d been working on closer. “Good to know. And your husband, what does he do?” Casually. Yeah, right. That was as smooth as the gravelly parking lot she’d had the contractor create out of the unused area in the back of the building.
Lena turned slowly and leaned gracefully against the counter, tucking a few stray strands on the back of her ear, again. “No longer married,” she answered in quiet tones. She fell silent, waiting til Bette looked up from whatever she was busying herself with. Finally, Bette did look up, and they exchanged another long, hot glance.

Skydancer, thank you for the update.
I was certain you would bring Tina in the café to meet Bette. But maybe it is Tina and she had to change her name too and needed to hide.
Lena or Tina doesn’t matter at the, moment, Bette can use some tender loving to reliesh her stress.
Tina’s coming ;-) but she’s not Lena. Not quite sure how to pull of a TLC scene for Bette yet without the Google police making things difficult for @Jacky. Any ideas?
Nice chapter, skydancer. In some email exchanges with @Jacky, she’s passed on to me that she doesn’t expect, nor want writers to self-censor. Just write what you want and let the chips fall where they may. Gotta love that woman. I would just avoid keywords that would be caught by any sniffer. I’m sure you have an idea of what words might attract attention. Other than that, I say bring on the TLC!
*off not of
Don’t worry about the site in terms of Google. Post without hesitation. This will all work out!
Really like this so far. If not mistaken, in the first chapter, I believe that I read that a film crew would be in the area very soon. So if you didn’t change Tinas’ occupation, then that is when she will show up. Right? Must go back and read that first chapter for some clarification of all this. Thanks for sharing. Can hardly wait for Tina to appear.
Why is Google going after this site?
Hi @Jane, I was referring to warning or instructions you see when you start to post a new chapter or story. The warning is new, and informs you that Google is screening for mature content in the text, not just in pics that are posted. Since the site relies on Google providing a platform for it (I think), I took it seriously. I also took it to mean Google is screening other posted chapters (and I’ve posted a bunch of chapters with sexy scenes, so ….). But @Jacky is saying not to worry, so, I guess that means I can (?) does that clear it up for you?
Enjoyed it, thanks
Hmmm, very, very interesting. Our favorite girls having to survive in a Red State, living underground, and communicating thru code! Sort of like life right now! Again. Please keep writing so I can relive this
