Bandit, Cash and Colbie
“You okay,” Dana knelt beside her.
Tina couldn’t breathe. Dana could see the tears streaming down her face as they mixed with the sweat on her cheeks.
“You gotta get up. Okay?”
Tina was gasping for air. She nodded. Dana pulled her to her feet.
“Breathe with me. Deep breath in and slowly exhale. Again. Deep breath in and slowly exhale.”
Tina’s breathing started to even out.
“Deep breath in and slowly exhale. Good. Just like that.”
“Did…did I…win?” Tina took another deep breath.
Dana just looked at Tina and started laughing.
“No, but you came fucking close. Someone has been training.”
Tina smiled.
“That’s all I did in Vancouver.”
Tina took another deep breath and exhaled slowly. Her heart rate was coming down.
“I can tell. You look great and you kept up with me the whole time. You would’ve beat me but you fell down before the trees.”
Dana shrugged.
“I’ll get you next time,” Tina said.
“You can try,” Dana winked at Tina.
Tina admired how much Dana loved to compete. She didn’t care who she was going against. Dana was going to give her all which was why Dana was one of the top tennis players in the country.
“How far back do you think Al is?” Tina asked.
“20 minutes at least. We were keeping a brutal pace.”
“Thanks for the push, Dane. I needed that.”
“Anytime. Just let me know.”
Tina nodded. They sat on one of the benches and waited for Alice to show up.
“How’s everything, Dane?” Tina nodded at Dana’s chest.
“I’m fine. Really good, actually. I had my last scans the other day. Waiting to get the results. Fingers crossed that they are clear. I was lucky. They caught it early and I didn’t have to do chemo. I have a lot to be thankful for.”
“That’s great to hear, Dane. I’ve been worried about you. How has Alice been through all of this?”
“Alice has been amazing. A little smothering at times but amazing. She has taken really good care of me.”
“I’m so glad she finally told you how she felt.”
“Finally? How long have you known she had feelings for me?”
“Dane, I’ve known for years,” Tina chuckled.
“Years? Wow. How’d you know?”

Nice date…. just how much longer of this closeness can they do without allowing themselves the intimacy of actually being together? Time to commit! Time to put the past into the past and go forward….
Thanks for the chapter… looking forward to more.
Wow…. That was hot!
I think Bette has tutured Tina enough. And Tina has learned her lesson. They should move forward already.
