“She looks at you the way Bette used to look at me,” Tina cleared her throat.

    Dana squeezed Tina’s hand.

“It’s okay. We are working on it.”

Dana nodded. They sat in silence for a few minutes until they heard wheezing. They looked up and Alice was limp jogging and gasping for air. Dana and Tina jumped up and helped Alice to the bench.

“Put your hands on top of your head, Al,” Dana wiped the sweat from Alice’s brow.

“Take a deep breath,” Tina coached.

Alice rolled her eyes. She put her hands on top of her head and took a deep breath.

    “I….hay…haaate…you.”

Dana and Tina laughed. Tina pushed Alice on the shoulder. Dana kissed Alice on the lips.

“Wanna meet at The Planet in a couple of hours?” Tina asked.

“Yes,” Alice said. “And you are buying for getting me up at the crack of dawn and making me run.”

    “Fine. Okay. Let’s say….9:30?”

Dana and Alice nodded in agreement.

“Do you need a ride home?” Dana asked.

    “Thanks. But no. I’ll walk.”

“Are you sure? We ran hard.”

“I’m sure. I’ll take it slow. I just need to clear my head.”

“I’ll be tracking you,” Alice said.

Tina nodded as she watched Dana grab Alice’s hand and give her a kiss on the temple.

“I’m proud of you. You did so good,” Dana said as they walked towards the parking lot.

    Tina smiled.

Bette could smell the coffee as soon as she opened the patio door. She was excited to see Tina. Bette looked around. No Tina. She noticed the fruit bowl and cheese tray on the counter next to a note.

Went for a run. There’s yogurt in the fridge.
Have a good day if I’m not back before you go.

Bette’s face dropped. She wanted to see Tina before she had to leave for her meeting at the gallery. Bette popped a blackberry in her mouth as she opened the refrigerator. She smiled when she saw the honey drizzled heart on top of the yogurt.

    “Tee…” Bette whispered.

Bette poured her a cup of coffee and added some granola to the yogurt. She was excited about her plans for their date. Bette hoped Tina was going to love it.

    1. Nice date…. just how much longer of this closeness can they do without allowing themselves the intimacy of actually being together? Time to commit! Time to put the past into the past and go forward….

Thanks for the chapter… looking forward to more.

    2. Wow…. That was hot!

I think Bette has tutured Tina enough. And Tina has learned her lesson. They should move forward already.
I love this story. Please keep writing. Thank you so much
