    Chapter 11

    (Bette) What is it you’re worried about exactly?

    Tina looks back to her, considering her response.

    (Tina) I only have your word that you weren’t planning to rob me. And that you’re not still planning some sort of retribution for what I did to you

    She smiles at Bette and reaches towards her, holding her hand to the side of her face.

    (Tina) The word of a liar

    Bette smiles and looks back at her, and Tina raises an eyebrow.

    (Tina) And a good one I hear

    Bette gives a small laugh and Tina smiles at her.

    Tina looks at her for a moment and then slowly shakes her head.

    (Tina) I think I’d be mad to trust you

    (Bette) And aren’t I a little mad, wanting to see you again after what you did to me?

    Tina raises her eyebrows and nods.

    (Tina) Yes, you are!

    Bette laughs and steps closer, moving her arms around Tina. She leans her head to one side and takes her in for a moment before speaking.

    (Bette) Let’s do it anyway

    Tina continues to examine her, and Bette smiles and raises her eyebrows.

    (Bette) As you said, if I were planning something I had the opportunity last night, and I didn’t take it

    Tina smiles as she runs her hands down Bette’s arms.

    (Tina) You might not be planning something so predictable

    Bette smiles at her.

    (Bette) I guess so

    She smiles and shrugs.

    (Bette) I don’t think there are a lot of guarantees here. We both would need to take a pretty significant leap, if we decide we want to

    (Tina) And you’ve decided that have you? That you want to?

    (Bette nods) Yes, I have

    Bette moves Tina’s hair from her shoulder and smiles at her.

    (Bette) I’ve seen you leap from a cliff with zero trepidation

    Tina laughs, and Bette smiles as she runs her hand down Tina’s back.

    (Bette) I think you love risk. It’s kind of your thing

    She looks at her for a moment and then smiles.

    (Bette) Take a risk on me

    Tina looks back at her and then smiles as she moves her hand through Bette’s hair and pulls her into a kiss.

    They draw back and Bette smiles at her.

    2. I had guessed that Tina was going to do something…. but this was a little unexpected. It appears that she anticipated meeting Bette again as she had Bette’s jewelry with her when she traveled.

      Seems strange though that this is the second time she has awakened to an empty bed on Tina’s last day of vacation. So let’s see what happens when they meet up in August…
