    Chapter 11

    (Bette) You want us to stay in my room?

    Tina looks to her and nods.

    (Tina) Yes

    They hold each other’s gaze for a moment, and Tina smiles. Bette picks up her wine glass and sits back in her seat.

    (Bette) And why is that important to you?

    Tina smiles and shrugs, and Bette has a sip of wine and examines her for a moment. Tina continues smiling at her.

    (Tina) Are you feeling a little vulnerable?

    Bette raises her eyebrows, and Tina smiles and leans her elbow on the back of the seat.

    (Tina) What is it you’re worried about?

    (Bette) I’m not sure exactly

    (Tina smiles) That I’m up to something?

    Bette looks at her for another moment.

    (Bette) Maybe

    Tina smiles and shifts closer, leaning her arm across the back of the seat behind Bette.

    (Tina) You stayed in my room last night, and you were still there in the morning

    Tina smiles as she leans in and kisses the corner of Bette’s mouth.

    (Tina) Now it’s your turn. Don’t you want to know that I had the opportunity and didn’t do anything?

    Bette gives her a sideways glance.

    (Bette) I think my strong preference right now is to not give you the opportunity

    Tina smiles and Bette turns her head towards her. Tina leans in and kisses her gently on the lips.

    (Tina) Come on baby, live a little


    Later, they stand together on the terrace of Bette’s room, wearing hotel robes and each with a glass of wine placed on the nearby table. Bette is leaning back against the railing and Tina stands in front of her, leaning her body into Bette’s as Bette moves her hands over Tina’s hips and lays gentle kisses along her shoulder and up to her neck. Tina closes her eyes and smiles, and Bette speaks into her neck.

    (Bette) What time is your flight?

    Tina opens her eyes and runs her hand over Bette’s back.

    (Tina) 11am

    Bette draws back and they look to one another. Bette takes a breath before speaking.

    (Bette) Can I see you again after tomorrow?

    Tina takes her in for a moment, and then smiles as she reaches towards her and tucks a curl behind Bette’s ear.

    2. I had guessed that Tina was going to do something…. but this was a little unexpected. It appears that she anticipated meeting Bette again as she had Bette’s jewelry with her when she traveled.

      Seems strange though that this is the second time she has awakened to an empty bed on Tina’s last day of vacation. So let’s see what happens when they meet up in August…
