    Bette smiles and gives her a sideways glance.

    (Tina) How about from our honeymoon? I assume we had one?

    Bette smiles.

    (Bette) Yes, we obviously did a lot of that on our honeymoon

    Tina places her elbow on the back of the seat and leans her head into her hand, and they smile at each other for a moment.

    (Tina) More detail

    Bette laughs and Tina smiles as she watches her.

    (Tina) Since when are you so bashful baby?

    Bette looks at her, smiling and shaking her head.

    Tina smiles back at her for a moment before placing her wine glass on the table. She then reaches for Bette’s and places it alongside her own. She smiles as she moves closer, leaning her body into her and running her hand slowly down Bette’s side and over her hip.

    (Tina) Tell me about a time in a more familiar location then

    Bette closes her eyes and takes a sharp breath as Tina moves her hand over her knee, her fingers tracing lightly up Bette’s inner thigh and grazing under her skirt.

    (Tina) Your office maybe?

    As Tina’s hand drifts higher she leans towards her, speaking directly into Bette’s ear.

    (Tina) Or more specifically, me going down on you in your office

    Bette takes another breath, keeping her eyes closed and leaning her head back, finding herself becoming completely lost in the moment as Tina’s hand progresses further. Tina again speaks into her ear.

    (Tina) Do you remember how much I love going down on you baby?

    Bette swallows.

    (Bette) Yes

    (Tina) Tell me then. Tell me about a time I came to your office after 2002, after we married

    Tina can feel Bette’s breathing becoming heavier as her hand continues to drift further under her skirt.

    (Tina) Tell me baby

    They are abruptly interrupted as their attention is drawn to a loud group entering the restaurant, and they both are pulled from the moment as they look towards them. They then look back to each other and smile as they reposition themselves next to one another. They share a look and both laugh.

    (Bette) I think we should probably get going

    Tina smiles as she gestures to the waiter.

    2. Okay, Tina is now threading on the edges of seeking the information of where and why they are where they are now. It is obvious that Tina and Bette still are in love with each other… and in the current life Tina is not happy with her current life and would like to get Bette back into her life. But what happened to break the two apart? I get the feeling that Tina initiated the split between the two? And sense Angie sees a great deal of animosity between the two with no memory of happiness, this being apart has gone on for a long time. You know that it is hard to repair that which you do not know is broken…. sooner or later, Tina has to face what their real history is…. I just hope she and Bette can find a path back together.

    3. Oh, we’re edging closer to what really happened when it all fell apart. I really hope their loving time together and the reminder of the best memories they had back then will reframe that devastating breakup and that they will both see it and all the ugly things that happened afterwards from a different perspective. Here’s hoping Bette and Tina’s enduring love for each other will eventually win and they will find a way back to each other despite all the hurt and pain they’ve gone through. Thank you so much for this chapter and this lovely, well-written and very interesting story, katynd!❤ Happy Thanksgiving!

    5. I wonder how close Tina is to facing her “fear” of why she & Bette had come to the point where animosity became their 1st option when dealing with one another. Somebody will rip the bandage off and reveal whassup . . . I just haven’t figured out who.

      This is such an intriguing story.

      Anyway, “playful” Tina may be able to wear cautious Bette down in time, so that the past can be discussed, grieved over and put to BED.
