    Tina smiles. (Tina) Angie was beside herself to see her Bette smiles and nods knowingly. (Tina) I can see what you mean about their bond They continue smiling at each other, holding each other’s gaze. Alice turns to Shane and Dana. (Alice) This is familiar right? The way one of us starts the conversation and

    Tina smiles.

    (Tina) Angie was beside herself to see her

    Bette smiles and nods knowingly.

    (Tina) I can see what you mean about their bond

    They continue smiling at each other, holding each other’s gaze.

    Alice turns to Shane and Dana.

    (Alice) This is familiar right? The way one of us starts the conversation and then somehow they continue it and it’s like we’re not here?

    Shane and Dana both smile as Bette and Tina turn back to them.

    (Tina laughs) Sorry Al

    Alice waves a hand dismissively.

    (Alice) Don’t worry, I’m just getting used to it again. It’s been a while

    Tina smiles and looks at her for a moment.

    (Tina) Well why don’t you tell us how your date went the other night?

    Alice shifts in her seat.

    (Alice) Ah, actually never mind. You two just go back to focusing on each other

    They all look at her.

    (Bette) It went that well then?

    Alice glances around the group and sighs.

    (Alice) Honestly, worst one in a long time. Maybe the worst one yet

    She shrugs and they all look at her sympathetically.

    (Tina) Sorry Al

    Alice waves her hand and smiles.

    (Alice) It’s OK

    Shane gives Alice an affectionate tap on the arm.

    (Shane) Worst one yet is a big call though Al

    Alice smiles at her.

    (Alice) Watch it Shane

    Dana smiles at them.

    (Dana) Yeah, seriously, worse than the vampire?

    Alice smiles and shakes her head.

    (Alice) You forget that the vampire wasn’t all bad

    They smile and have a sip of their drinks and Tina frowns and turns to Bette.

    (Tina) Did she say vampire?

    Bette smiles as she has a sip of her wine.

    (Bette) Unfortunately yes

    The moment is interrupted by a woman approaching the table, addressing Tina and smiling.

    (Renee) Tina

    Tina looks up at her with eyebrows raised, and withdraws her hand from Bette’s leg.

    (Tina) Ah, hi

    (Renee frowns) Renee

    Tina smiles and shakes her head.

    (Tina) I’m sorry, I’m having a strange week

    (Renee smiles) That’s fine. I haven’t heard from you though. I was hoping to

    Renee smiles at her and continues looking at her intently. Tina smiles awkwardly, glancing at Bette.

    (Tina) Um, well

    Renee smiles and glances around the table.

    1. I’ve been waiting for this part of the story… Of what happened to them. i love the slow build. Not rushed at all, i love how you make Tina have a personal conversation with everybody and opens and close certain topics. All bases getting attention. Always looking forward to new chapters! After the release of ep2 of GenQ, gosh aren’t we all getting hung up on this great love story?

        . . . . What happened??? Totally agree with Hanna’s assessment

    2. Wow… the question “Does she?” Meaning does the current day Tina deserve to be treated harshly? And the key word is deserve… This may be the conversation which brings Tina back to the present day. This may be the necessary conversation which Bette needs to motivate her (Bette) to seek a solution rather than to perpetuate the continued present environment and relationship. In the beginning before this memory loss happened, Tina appeared to want to have a conversation with Bette to change their relationship to a less hostile relationship. But Bette did respond positively to Tina. Bette is angry about something and has built walls that Tina could not breach. This is going to be an interesting conversation…

      Thank you for the chapter…. we are edging closer to know what has put Bette and Tina into such a hostile relationship of the present… I hope that they all come out better people as a result… but I see that both Bette and Tina are probably going to suffer some pain and anguish as a result. I hope not… but the time seems ripe for everyone to face what the situation is. You cannot fix that which you do not know is broken.

      Look forward to the next chapter.

    4. Oh my, we are inching closer to the truth of what happened between them.

      It certainly look likes Bette blames Tina for what happened back then and still is very angry about it.

      So looking forward to their conversation. Or maybe not because my heart will break.

    5. Thanks for posting. We really appreciate your time and hard work in keeping us entertained. Just speculating. Who is Renee? What was her relationship with Tina? She acted as if they had more than a friendship. Am I warm? PPS
