    Chapter 18 – The Weekend – August 10 & 11

Tina was thrilled at the prospect of spending a couple of weeks on a Scottish farm. Bette liked the way it sounded as well. They hoped to have it open by June 30th 2020. Bette told them she wanted reservations as soon as it was opened for at least two weeks for her family. They would need 3 or 4 rooms depending on if Mary went with them. Bette said, in fact make it 6 rooms – we can have a real family vacation. Paris and Jeanette, Kit and Sonny, Me and Tina, Angie, Daniel and Mary.  Dylan said, well maybe we can get Shane’s family, Alice’s family and us there, then we will have our LA lesbian’s group.

Helena like the way that sounded. It pleased her.  She expressed her disappointment that she and Dylan would not be hosting the Kennard-Potter family, but she understood that when you have a place almost in hand, moving twice is a big ask. Bette thanked her for her consideration, but for her not to erase their names since you never seem to be able to predict the future. Helena assured them that they would be welcomed anytime.

Tina said they would invite them to a cookout at the new house as soon as they were settled. Dylan smiled and both said they would appreciate that. But they planned on attending Angie’s off to college party.  Tina said – yes and that too. But that is going to be at Redondo Beach.

Bette then indicated that they should get back to the house since she had to prepare for work for tomorrow.  Helena was disappointed that she had to leave, but understood. Angie and Daniel had returned and Tina was telling Dylan that now that they had a built-in chauffer, they had better go.

Helena and Dylan kidded Angie about her new position, but she took it well.  She had a car and she loved it.

Bette and Tina hugged them both bye and thank them for the lovely lunch.  They settled in the back seat and held hands as Daniel and Angie took the family back to the beach house.  Bette and Tina talked about possible ordering out tonight – Chinese? Angie thought it was a great idea and volunteered to go pick it up. Bette gave Angie her credit card and told her to order it, pay for it and fill you tank full of gasoline. She told Daniel to go with her and make sure she stays safe.
