     Chapter 23 – The Wedding

Tina: So, have you asked Marilyn to go with us to Scotland?

Dylan:  We plan to ask her tomorrow. Maybe she will find someone to be her travel buddy and go with us. If not, well, we will make sure she has a good time.

Tina: I am looking forward to that trip. But we have another big trip between now and then. We are going to Yellowstone National Park in the spring. We have invited Daniel’s best friend and his family to go with us and they have accepted.

Dylan:  That should be a lot of fun. Now that is a place that I have never been. Maybe I should look into making a trip sometime.

Tina: We have never been either. It’s going to be an adventure for all of us. Mary and Margaret are going with us. I doubt that Angie will join us, but she is invited.

Dylan:  First year in college?  She will probably go someplace with her friends like some beach.

Tina: Dylan, I’m needing another glass of wine. Can I get you one?

Dylan:  No, I’m going to talk to Kit and Sonny. I’ll talk to you later. Thank you, Tina, for your gift. It’s magnificent. I don’t think there is anything we could give you or your family which would be more meaningful than this portrait is to us.

Tina:  You are welcome, Dylan. I am so glad you guys like it.

Dylan:  Like it is a gross understatement. There are no words to say how we feel about it. It is amazingly beautiful and meaningful. See you later.

Tina wandered to the bar and felt hands on her back and looked to see that Bette was right beside her.

Bette: Hey you. Can I get you another drink?

Tina:  How about some Perrier? I don’t want to have too much alcohol. I know that there will be wine with dinner and maybe champaign afterwards.

Bette:  That sounds good to me as well. Then we need to go speak to the brides before we are called to dinner. Are you doing okay?

Tina: I’m fine. How are you doing? You are the one wearing four-inch heels.

Bette:  Don’t remind me. I am beginning to be in need of a place to sit down. Rumor has it that it’s going to be an early night. Paris says that she and Jeanette are leaving no later than 10 pm.
