Bette:  Okay 10 pair. No more than 5 bras – at least 3 need to be sports bras. And 10 pair of socks. At least 3 pair need to be dress socks. No more than 2 pair of pajamas. You can have 5 sweatshirts or hoodies. But only 4 if you plan on buying one from Yale. You can have 8 t-shirts if you plan to buy a couple from Yale. Everything needs to be folded tightly. And you can probably fit no more than 6 sweaters in a drawer. But you may be able to fit a couple extra on the shelf in your closet. But that shelf is your reserved storage. You do not want to load it up beforehand. So, why don’t you get another box and make the cuts you need to make and arrange things in drawer order. I’ll get a box for those additional things you are going to send to Santa Monica. I’m going to start looking at your hanging clothes. Let’s see how that is going to work.

Bette went into the closet and was actually rather pleased with what she found. It was obvious that Tina and Angie had done a tremendous amount of work in July. The amount of clothing had been pared down tremendously. All the other stuff had been eliminated altogether.  Bette looked at the shoes and immediately approved the selection. Those along with the sneakers she was wearing would be adequate and get her through. Bette started moving clothes from the closet to the rolling racks. When she finished, the racks were full but not beyond capacity. And with the heavy winter coat and snow suit in the trunk, there was still some room should there be a need. Bette then put another box together and put in all the shoes. Tina then came in and had a box with an iron which had been left out of the packing in the lounge. Bette put the small box into the box with the shoes. Bette remembered that in her room she had a plastic shoe box which Angie could use to store her belts and scarfs in. She went and retrieved that. It could easily sit on the shelf for ease of location. She put that in the box with the shoes. The belts and scarfs were on a hanger and on the rolling racks.
