Chapter 31 – Off to New York

Mary:  Thank you Tina. I believe I just may take you up on that. After all you guys have a pool. And I want to have every opportunity to be with my only grandchildren – Angie and Daniel. And I am enjoying being here so far. I just hope I am helping in some way.

Tina: Oh, believe me, you are being a tremendous help. An extra pair of hands is always helpful in a move. We just don’t want to work you too much.

Daniel:  These burgers are the best and these steak fries! May I have some more ketchup?

Angie: Here you go. I believe these are better than I remember.

Bette: You must have been hungry.

Angie:  Yeah, a little. Not bad hungry, but my stomach was telling me it was time to eat again.

Tina:  And the good thing about this is that there are no dishes to clean up. Just throw away the trash and wipe off the table.

Bette:  Daniel, if you get a moment, I could use some help in moving some boxes out of Angie’s room to the New Haven corner of the lounge upstairs. Angie? I think we are ready to wrap the clothes on the rolling racks with plastic wrap. Is everything hung up that needs to be?

Angie:  Everything but what I will be taking in my suit case.

Bette: Okay, put a couple of extra hangers in one of those boxes for your chest. You may be able to hang a few more clothes rather than fold them up. You can adjust as you see fit.

Tina: Where would you like for us to put the charity bags?

Bette:  On the opposite wall from the New Haven wall. And remember, let’s get all the trash out of the hall before we adjourn for our nap. If we crash after dinner, at least things will be straight and ready to start tomorrow. Now Tina, do not lift anything heavier than 5 pounds. We will move that stuff for you if its heavy. Have we got enough boxes?

Tina: I think we have used only about a quarter of what I ordered. So, we are good so far.

Bette:  Okay team, are we ready to get back to it? Thank you, Tina, for that wonderful lunch. Just delicious…
