Chapter 32 – More Packing
Bette: I will bet that you have gotten a lot more exercise this week to make up for the increase in calories. And besides, this won’t go on forever.
Angie: I know that I am being more active. And I am sleeping like a log. Those afternoon naps are really nice. I have been ready for them when that time has come around.
Daniel: Yeah, we go to bed early be we are getting up at 4:00 am.
Bette: Well, we may have a couple of days where we don’t have to get up so early. So, what do you guys have still to do?
Mary: There is a couple of closets. One looks to be a winter closet with a few winter coats and ski suits in. Look like they are yours. There is a snow board and some skis and some snow shoes.
Bette: Tee, do you think we need to keep that stuff?
Tina: Let’s take a look at the coats and ski suits. But all that equipment can go to charity. If we decide to take up snow skiing, we can buy new equipment. That stuff is fairly old anyway.
Bette: Just move the clothes to my closet. If we keep them, then they will be packed with our clothes and we will sort them out when they get to Santa Monica. What else?
Angie: The supply room has some equipment. The broom closet has various brooms, mops, and a couple of vacuum cleaners.
Tina: I’ll look though that and decide what gets packed and what goes. If it goes, we can send it to charity or to the dumpster.
Angie: We are running low on laundry detergent and fabric softener.
Bette: We will order some for delivery for tomorrow. Anything else we need – water, coffee, creamer?
Tina: I hope that is all good and will last through Friday? Oh, on Friday we need to clean out the fridge. All the open food stuff goes in the dumpster. We will have a cleaning crew to do the actual cleaning. Check all the bathrooms and makes sure that all the cabinets are empty except for a couple of rolls of toilet tissue.
Bette: When you get up on Saturday morning, strip your beds and lets’ pack the dirty linens in box and mark it dirty so it goes to the laundry room when it arrives. Angie you and Mary get any dirty clothes you have into the laundry as quickly as you can. They need to be dry and packed in your luggage. Dan, you just put your dirty laundry in a plastic bag and pack it in your luggage. We will handle that at home. Mom and I will do the same. Angie, why don’t you pick out 2 laundry baskets and put them with your things going to New Haven. We will buy the laundry detergent when we go grocery shopping on Saturday.
