Chapter 33 – Days of Fun and Then New Haven
Tina was wearing a red sequined top which had ¾ sleeves and a boat neck. She had on black dress slacks with heals which made her a good three inches taller. She had a small black patten leather clutch purse which contained her keys, valuables and her cell phone. Tina’s short hair sparkled with the silver hair which was beginning to show. With her black onyx and diamond necklace, her diamond tennis bracelet and her very red lip stick, she was ready for an evening in New York City.
Bette was wearing a silver blouse with its attached tie which was tied in a lose bow. She was wearing some white pearls and a silver set of bracelets. She wore some pearl stud earrings and wore her hair in a short soft curl. The blouse brought out the gray highlights which were beginning to dominate her hair color. She decided to wear navy blue dress slacks with some of her favorite heels. They were all smiling with confidence that they looked good.
While waiting for Bette, Tina decided to take some more pictures of each of her family members. When Bette arrived wearing her definitive Porter smile. Tina snaped her picture. Bette took the camera and took one of Tina to complete the collection.
Bette: Everyone ready? Car should be here in just a couple of minutes. Shall we head down to the lobby?
They were in the car and on their way to the Richard Rodgers Theatre. Bette then went to the will call window and pick up their tickets. They were then escorted to their reserved seats.
Mary: Wow, these are some nice seats. How did you ever get them?
Bette: Helena got them for us. Actually, she gave them to us a gift. She refused to allow me to pay for them. I am going to have to do something for her at some point in the future.
Mary: Are we not going to Scotland next year to her and Dylan’s farm house inn?
Tina: That’s the plan. I just hope it’s ready in time. She said that this would be their “soft opening”.
Angie: Here are the programs. This is nice, thank you for doing this.
The music started up and the lights went down and soon the curtain opened. The performance was spectacular. Daniel was beside himself with the live orchestra music as well as the live stage performance. Daniel was singing as they went out the door to get into their car.
