Chapter 33 – Days of Fun and Then New Haven

Daniel:  It won’t solve any problems. In fact, in the scientific method, it’s a waste of time and effort. It won’t lead you to the resolution of the problem.

Mary: Wow, I never thought about these types of things. But you are right. You cannot change history. You can only change is right now and what you want to do in the future.

Angie: This drink is very good Mom. Sooo refreshing. Great end of a summers day drink. Are you enjoying that Suzanne?

Suzanne:  It is rather nice. Different from anything that I have tried before. Most drinks I have tried have a strong alcohol taste. But I noticed you asked for only a half a shot. Is that what makes it so refreshing?

Tina: The tonic water is bubbly and has some fruity qualities about it. But the reduction of alcohol makes it less bitter and of course less strong. The purpose of a cocktail is to be relaxing, not to lose control of your faculties. Be careful of those people who want to (using air quotes) want to get drunk and say so really early in the evening. They are out to lose control of their being. And that usually spells trouble. And it could be trouble for you and it most definitely will be trouble for them.

Suzanne: Yeah, I can see that. It happened sometimes at parties at high school. I never saw the fun in getting drunk. Those people pass out, get sick, feel terrible the next day and usually make fools of themselves. None of that sounds like fun to me.

Mary: That is an excellent view point to have. Stay with that, and you will be better off.

The hostess came in and told Bette that their table was ready. Bette told the group to follow the hostess and she would join them when she settled the bar tab.

Suzanne asked Angie to accompany her to the lady’s room. As they walked away, Tina heard them Suzanne talking.

Suzanne:  Angie, you have an amazing family. They are so considerate of each other. And your moms are so beautiful.

Tina turned to see if Mary had heard Suzanne. Mary stepped up and grab Tina by the elbow and whispered in her ear.
