Bette: Yes, and we need to contact your contractor and Jim and see where everything stands on the studio and the house. But maybe you can do that tomorrow. It’s a holiday and I really do not want to intrude on their private time.

Tina:  Daniel, you need to get on line and pay your food card for the week with your debit card. I’m sure you will get that card on Wednesday. Bette, you might need to make sure his afterschool activity fees are paid as well. When do your music lessons begin Daniel?

Daniel: My first lesson is guitar next Monday. Friday, I have no afterschool activities. Next week starts my first full week. I plan to do music on Monday and Wednesday and sports on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Friday, I hope to come home early and that will be a home work and family activity day. Saturday will probably be the day that I do things with friends and go to the school intermural games. Sunday traditionally has been family and homework day.

Bette: When do you plan on doing your homework during the week?

Daniel: I plan on doing it after dinner and before bed. I hope that we can eat between 6 and 7 and then from 7 until 9 or 9:30, I’ll do homework. Go to bed at 9:30 and get up at 5:30. I hope to do 30 minutes of exercise, shower, have breakfast and leave here at 7:00 am.

Bette:  Wow, you’ve been thinking about this, haven’t you?

Daniel: Yeah. I have to get everything I want to do into my schedule. And I still have to get plenty of sleep and of course eat.

Bette: Well, once we move to Santa Monica, we will gain an extra hour every day. It’s 30 minutes we don’t have to be traveling to and from school. Tina will gain that same hour.

Tina:  I hadn’t thought about that. It is about 35 minutes from here to the studio. Once I’m in our new home, it’s only 5 to 10 minutes.

Bette: Another reason that this home is perfect for us.

Tina:  Daniel, at some point, we need for you to start a preliminary list of middle schools that you might be interested in attending. We will then start our research and selection process. We want your applications in by Thanksgiving.
