    Chapter 37 – Daniel’s Weekend

Tina: That is the most amazing piece of film work I have ever seen. Thank you, John David, for insisting we come in here. That was amazing.

John David: Well, we are going to Fantasy Land next. It’s mostly kid’s stuff about kid’s stories. So, we won’t stop and do much in there. Then we should head to Mickey Mouse Toons Land. The only thing I think is worth seeing is the Roger Rabbit exhibit.  It’s neat.

Bette: Well, then let’s get going or we are going to run out of time.

Bette and Tina enjoyed just walking around and looking at the various buildings and exhibits and felt like they could spend a week here just looking at everything. Their map seemed to indicate that they were just half way through the various lands and there was a lot they had just skipped. In Cartoon Land, they stopped and had the picture made with Chip and Dale as the boys thought they were interesting characters. They did the Roger Rabbit Cab ride which took very little of their time and then headed for Frontier Land. Tina suggested that they go ahead and find a place to eat lunch before they push on to see more of the park. Bette suggested Rancho de Zocalo which they all agreed looked good.  They ate a variety of tacos and burritos and had some frozen green and blue drinks. John Daniel then discussed what all they would do in frontier land. They would see the Pirates Lair on Tom Sawyer Island, they would, ride on the Mark Twain River Boat, and the Golden Horseshoe stage. They would then head to Splash Mountain in Critter Country. They would then head to New Orleans Section and do Pirates of the Caribbean and the Haunted House.  Then they would go on to Adventure Land and to the Tiki Room, the Jungle Cruise, Tarzan’s Tree House and end with the Indiana Jones adventure.  Bette told them they had reservations for 6:30 at the Blue Bayou Restaurant for dinner.  And of course, they might need to have a snack midafternoon.

Bette and Tina were having a good time. They were being just as entertained as Daniel and John David. The day was warm but not overly so. So, they were able to walk from venue to venue with seeking out a cool place to sit and rest. When they got to Splash Mountain, Bette had to be coaxed into participating. Tina promised to hold her hand all the way through it. It was basically a car that held about 40 people which was on a track that was pulled up the inside of a man-made mountain cave and then plunged down a steep stretch of tracts to plunging into the water. Some of the passenger got wet and some did not. Bette and Tina felt a soft spray of water but they did not get what those in the front got. They were soaked.  And if the weather was hot, it would feel good. But Bette nor Tina had any real desire to walk around in wet clothes for a while. Daniel wanted to do it a second time, but Tina insisted that they move on as there was still lots to do and a limited amount of time to do it.
