Chapter 40 – Do You Wanna Come In?

“You guys have the same big brown eyes, so I didn’t think much of it.”

Tina took a sip of her pineapple juice through the straw. Bette watched her lips wrap around it and the sensual way she used them to suck the liquid up into her mouth. She quickly looked away. How is it that I can be jealous of her straw?

“What’s your musical talent?” Tina asked after swallowing the tangy juice.

“Me? Umm, I can play piano, but that’s about it.”

Tina could tell it was a subject that Bette didn’t want to fully discuss.

Over the course of dinner, Tina found out a little more about Bette including the details of her last break up. Never before had Bette found it so easy to open up to anyone about her personal life as it was with Tina.

At the same time, Bette had been dying to ask Tina about her own relationship experiences but knew that she couldn’t navigate the conversation without any resistance.

Even though Tina was interested in Bette’s past relationships, she really wanted to ask about the afternoon meeting with Jodi.

Once their dessert plates were picked up, a lull in the conversation provided an open door for both, but Bette struck first.

“So what about you, Ms. Kennard?”

    “What about me, Ms. Porter?”

“Tell me about this entertainment lawyer who was your main focus an hour before I came into your life.”

The blonde raised both eyebrows and smirked at Bette. She reached across the table and took Bette’s hand in her own. “Tell you what? Why don’t we save that conversation for the next meal in the obligatory repentance series of meals?”

Chuckling, Bette knew she would get nothing else from Tina the rest of the night. “You got yourself a deal.”

They had climbed to the upper deck where the DJ was already playing for a number of dancing guests as the beat of Mariah Carey’s “Obsessed” flooded the quiet marina.

Tina grabbed Bette’s hand and led her to the dance floor without a word. Turning as soon as they reached their destination, she began swaying her hips and moving to the music.

Bette swallowed hard, but tried not to let her excitement show as she started to dance. The fall air was crisp as they danced with the other guests underneath the starry sky.

    1. Thanks for the chapter!

Bette, Bette, why don’t you come in?:)

Ahh, and i forgot to tell something about references in past chapters – i just hate words “Spaghetti girl”. Maybe it’s because that originally they come from Jodi, but i just hate them

    2. Yeah, Bette, I had a wonderful time this evening, too :-) Thanks for this date … eeeh.. chapter, MeLL.

You capture the chemistry between T + B really excellently. Sizzling hot already.
Seeing how comfortable Tina is with teasing, innuendos, holding hands and kissing Bette, you’re definitely showing how Tina is Bettesexual.

You really know a lot about music, don’t you? Quite the aficionado, I’d say. :-)
The Easter egg..hmm… the name of the Yacht? Dream on by either Nazareth or Aerosmith?

Thanks for spending some of your lazy time for us by posting!

      • Remember, it wasn’t a date, it was an obligatory repentance ;-)

And thanks so much for the warm words.

As I suspected, you found that Easter egg with no problems (Aerosmith)! And yes, like Tina, I am a huge music aficionado. My library is so eclectic. Every time I play a game called Song Quiz with my friends who have an Amazon Echo (Alexa), I always kick their ass because I know the most obscure titles and artists. I pride myself on my musical knowledge.

        See ya Sunday!

        MeLL
