    (Tina) Everything

    Bette smiles back at her.

    (Bette) She’s just wonderful Tee

    Bette’s face lights up as she talks and Tina smiles as she watches her.

    (Bette) She’s so smart, too smart sometimes, she’s going to cause us grief

    Tina continues smiling at her as she reaches out and places her hand over Bette’s on the table surface.

    (Bette) And she’s kind, and empathetic. She’s observant, and she’s interested in the world and in people. She’s strong and so so caring

    Bette looks at Tina for a moment and then turns her hand, entwining their fingers.

    (Bette) She’s so like you

    They smile at each other.

    (Tina) And what does she get from you?

    (Bette) Well, she’s also stubborn and doesn’t listen

    Bette shrugs and Tina laughs.

    (Tina) I’m sure there’s more than that

    They smile at each other.

    (Tina) When is she back from camp?

    (Bette) Friday

    Tina nods and they both have a sip of wine.


    They decide to have a drink at a quiet bar a couple of doors down from the restaurant. They sit closely alongside one another on a small couch as they continue to chat away comfortably to each other.

    The waitress brings them a drink and Tina reaches for the glass placed on the table in front of them, and then resettles alongside Bette with her body turned towards her. She looks to Bette with a mischievous smile.

    (Tina) Why are we both single?

    Bette laughs and looks over at her.

    (Bette) I can’t tell you why you’re single Tee

    (Tina) Well you then

    Tina rests her elbow on the back of the couch and leans into her hand, smiling at her.

    (Tina) You’re a total catch you know, always were

    Bette raises an eyebrow at her as she has a sip of wine.

    (Bette) There have been people over the years. For you as well. Mine were never particularly serious, and as far as I could tell yours weren’t either

    Bette shrugs.

    (Tina) It’s because we’re still hung up on each other, isn’t it?

    Bette laughs and Tina smiles at her.

    (Bette) I don’t know Tee

    (Tina) Are you still hung up on me?

    Bette takes a deep breath and smiles at her.

    1. Humm.. so Bette and Tina have been separated for more than 10 years… that is a long time. This temporary amnesia may be the only way these two can get together. They have to be in a place where the pain and hurt has been totally blanked out. Subconsciously, Tina knows what cause the breakup and that is why she does not want to know about it from Bette. Once she brings it into her consciousness, she will have to deal with it. It would seem that her desire to be with Bette is far more important than knowing what happened and then to deal with how she feels about it. Seems like these two are really in a mess.

    2. I agree with you Martha.

      It will be interesting to see how this will go, it could be a good thing to come close again, build a friendship before Tina become the Tina she was. I believe their separation was ugly, otherwise their wouldn’t be still so much angry between them. Bette has admitted she is still hung up on Tina and i believe Tina is as well. But ten years separated and so much anger, i really want to know what happened, if you follow canon a bit i wouldn’t be surprised if the reason is that Tina left Bette for Henry or some other guy.
      I am really curious what happened.
