Helena scoffs “I am aware of that Carmen. I wasn’t embraced yesterday..I was referring to his clothing or possessions. But this leads me to a prophecy I learned from Jasper and see how I can awaken Selene without needing her descendant seed to do it”
“What are you talking about Madam Helena. What descendant seed?” Kit asked inquisitively
Helena scoffs “I’m getting to that Kit..And it’s because of your treacherous sister we are even in this predicament in the first place” she scowls her eyes burning a fiery red as her hatred for her creation rises within her. She struggles but finally regain her composure “Christina Kennard is a mortal descendant of Selene”
Collective gasps resonated throughout the council room again as Helena continued recounting the prophecy Jasper had told her.
“If such prophecy existed for our kind why was it not written in the ancient scrolls” Jodi asked wishing they had disposed of Bette when they had the chance.
“That is a good question Jodi but we do not have the time for inconsequential ponderings. We have to keep Bette from embracing Christina and we must formulate a plan to awaken Selene without her”. She says as she begins her pacing in front of the council members in thought “There must be another way”
“Madam Helena I may have a way” Carmen announces. Helena stops her pacing to look at her
“Please by all means Carmen. This is why I called this meeting. It is imperative we work together”
“What about Ambrogio himself?” Carmen asked knowing it may have sounded preposterous but nothing she was hearing at the moment sounded ordinary anyway
Helena’s laugh echos throughout the lair
“Carmen you know Ambrogio met his fate with a silver sword in the heart compliments of François L’Olonnais the French Pirate when Ambrogio along with his recently embraced Spanish soldiers attacked L’Olonnais’ ship near Campeche in Mexico”
“Do we really know that Madam Helena? Of course we have heard the story. Yet it seems too unbelievable that he would meet his death to that of a mere human with a sliver sword. If I were to find the sword of François L’Olonnais I could confirm if indeed Ambrogio was slain by his hand by channeling the sword itself”

I agree with Billy….. why is wrong with Tina? Why is she sweating and running a fever? She slept all day and did not realize it until she woke up? That means her internal clock is not working properly. That only happens when for most people they have been under the influence of an anesthetic or strong sleep inducing drugs.
Carmen’s sudden alliance with Kit is surprising. She seems to have a lot of unique skills that the others do not have. Being a vampire and a metamorphite is truly advantageous. Can she be trusted? Helena was able to detect Kit’ meeting with Bette, will she be able to detect Carmen’s meeting with Bette as well? Is this a trap for Bette?
Now Bette is a vampire and a shape changer with extraordinary strength. What else can she do which we do not know about.
I am a little concerned for Tina. She needs to be embraced which I take to mean she needs to become a vampire as well. Perhaps this illness is the impetus which will propel her to that decision. If she is sick and near death, she may readily consent to being embraced to be immortal and Bette’s partner. That is merely a guess…

I was wondering if she was accidentally infected, since one of Bette’s fangs grazed her. If Bette doesn’t turn her she will die. I obviously watched too many vampire movies. Enjoying your story.

I hope Tina doesn’t need to be turned. In fact I hope that somehow all the mystic stuff will help Bette to change herself back. Maybe it is the process of regaining more of the memory of the previous Tina that makes her body ill or weak.
Not sure if Carmen can be trusted and if Kit will be strong enough to withstand Helena.
