    (Tina) Baby?

    (Bette) Yeah, are you OK?

    Tina smiles at her.

    (Tina) I just wanted to ask you something

    (Bette) OK

    Tina looks at her nervously.

    (Bette) Tee, you can ask me anything

    (Tina nods) I know. Do you remember when you used to…

    Tina looks at Bette with a nervous smile.

    (Bette smiles) When I used to what?

    (Tina) When you used to make love to me really, really slowly, and whisper things to me?

    Bette smiles.

    (Bette) Of course I remember. But Tee, I don’t think I’m allowed to say any of those things to you anymore

    They share a pensive look, as Tina tucks a stray curl of Bette’s behind her ear.

    (Tina) I’ve been thinking about it. You could still tell me about back then

    Bette smiles and repositions herself, lying Tina on her back and wrapping Tina’s leg over her hip. Tina takes a sharp intake of breath at Bette’s touch, and Bette starts to whisper.

    (Bette) Do you mean tell you about how I felt when I first saw you? Or first kissed you?

    Tina leans her head back into the pillow.

    (Tina) Yes

    (Bette) Or first touched you?

    They are silent for a moment, both enjoying the feel of the other.

    (Tina) Tell me about how much you loved me

    Bette looks at her.

    (Tina) Tell me, please baby?

    Bette looks at her for another moment.

    (Bette smiles) I was so hopelessly in love with you.

    Bette swallows and her eyes glisten, and Tina smiles softly up at her. Bette continues her slow movements while they maintain eye contact.

    (Bette) And I would feel it in my chest and my stomach, every time you’d walk into a room, every time you’d smile, or laugh, or frown

    (Tina) Slower baby

    Bette does as Tina requests, as Tina again leans back into the pillow. They continue in silence for a moment.

    (Bette) I feel it every time I lay eyes on you

    Tina brings her head forward and they lock eyes. Bette cringes at what she has said, and silently admonishes herself for drifting into the present tense. She smiles faintly at Tina in apology.

    (Bette) Sorry

    Tina looks at her for another moment before reaching towards her and pulling her in for a passionate kiss, while wrapping her arms around Bette tightly.

    (Tina) You can go faster now baby

    (Bette smiles) OK

    They share another smile and continue their morning together.

    3. Thank you for continuing this story! Love the intrigue in their meetings. I know their clandestine relationship is on borrowed time and they will be outed. I just hope their relationship being outed does not break them up. There will be storms brewing especially with that senator checking them out…..does he sense something more than a professional relationship? Please post again soon

    4. Nice chapter…. life for Bette and Tina and their relationship is getting harder to sustain in this no strings attached in name only relationship. Something has to give or they are going to be beside themselves during their times of separation. Can’t wait to see how you give them a glide path to happiness for both of them. They need to be together as committed full time spouses. It’s what they want….
