Tina: Why are you guys treating us like we are some sort of criminals?

Deputy: Look the police department appreciate all you have done for that little girl in there, God knows she’s been through a lot, but we think it’s best if the child distance herself from the two of you, we don’t want to confuse her. It’s obvious that she was already becoming attached which is not a good thing.

Tina: Why not??

Deputy: Because she’s not your child Mrs. Kennard-Porter. Now please, I’m going to have to ask you guys to leave.

Kit: I just need to identify her please. I need to make sure my suspicions are terribly wrong. Please officer.

The deputy could hear the desperation in Kit’s voice. He knew a person wouldn’t go through all this trouble for someone they don’t know so there has got to be more to it. Against his better judgment, the deputy decided to let Kit see Angelica.

Deputy: Fine. You have two minutes.

All of the women started to push pass the deputy until he held his arms out, blocking Tina and Bette from following behind.

Deputy: Just Ms. Kit Porter I’m sorry, I can’t let you two go back there.

Tina was about to continue to push pass the deputy until Bette held her back.

Bette: Tina don’t worry she will be okay, just let Kit go back there and do what she needs to do. We can wait for her out here.

Kit walked over to Tina and kissed her on the cheeks.

Kit: Don’t worry baby girl.

She whispered in Tina’s ears then turned to follow the deputy to the back.

Deputy: Okay let’s go.

They walked to a back room. Once inside, you could see Angelica inside of another room next door sitting down in a chair playing with her doll. The deputy picked up the microphone that was used to communicate with Angelica from the other room, and called out to her as she had her back towards them.

Deputy: Angelica, sweetie, I have someone here who wants to see you.

Angelica quickly got up and hid behind the chair as she heard the voice over the speaker phone.

Deputy: Don’t worry sweetheart it’s me, Deputy Luke. Remember I told you I was gonna be talking to you over the big loud speaker, it’s alright. No one is going to hurt you. Just walked over to the glass for me sweetheart. It’s alright, nothing to be scared of.
