Bette closes the door and turns to Emma
“Well she’s a lively one” Bette chuckles
“I think she and I will be good friends. I mean we both have the same major. I bet we have a lot of the same classes”
Bette nods and looks around the room
“Looks like you have a lot of space in here. Nice desk and even room for your easel when you get it” she says pulling Emma into a hug “This is going to kill me you know but I want you to have this experience. It’s just hard to let go”
Emma sighs “Mom promise me you will get out and date please. You haven’t been with anyone since…” Emma says being cut off by Bette
“Emma..Please don’t bring that up.. It’s too painful” Bette pleads and feels Emma pull away to look at her
“Mom it’s been almost seven years..I know it’s hard but you have to move on…And I’m not there with you now so you can’t use me as an excuse anymore. I want you to be happy again..I don’t want you to be alone” Emma says as tears formed her eyes
Bette sighs “Emma please….You don’t worry about me ok. I want you to worry about yourself and your studies. I will be fine”
Emma sighed quickly wiping her eyes knowing talking to her Mother about this subject was futile. She wished someone would bring her out of her funk and bring love into her life again.
“Ok. I will let it go” Emma says defeated
Bette pulls Emma to her and kisses her on the cheek “Good..Now I need to pull myself away from you before I chain myself to your bedpost”
Emma chuckles and sighs “I’m going to miss you so much” she says clutching Bette tightly to her
“I’m going to miss you like crazy too kiddo” Bette says through a cracked voice “I love you and I will call you when I get to New York. My flight will get in late but I’m sure you will still be up” she says stroking Emma’s beautiful sandy blonde hair
Emma nods into Bette’s chest and pulls away from her “I love you too” she sighs before continuing “….Ok then….I guess this is goodbye…Let me walk you out”

WhooHoo! Bette thinks she’s going to LA to be close to Emma, but she’s fixin’ to get RE-introduced to Kit and introduced to a screaming gorgeous Professor!!!

Wow! I can already tell that this story is going to have me on the edge of my seat!
Small world…. so many connections and they are all through Emma Porter. Its going to be an exciting college life for Emma. Hopefully some of the other problems will work out as well. Bette has no significant other… Tina has no significant other and Kit was just trying to do the right thing. Of course its a bit harsh to threaten to take a child away to get her back into Emma’s life.
Now that Bette is going to move to the west coast, things should really get interesting.
Liking this story a lot… thank you for this new chapter… cannot wait to see more..

Bette moving to LA, Emma, Tina and Kit already linked to each other.
What Kit did was not the way to get Bette out of her grieve for her long term partner, she was threatening to take Emma from her and already had hired a lawyer, i can imagine that Bette was mad as hell and cut Kit out of their lives. The intention of Kit to pull Bette up was good but not the way she went through it. I would have cut her off to.
Interesting story!
Oh, my guess was wrong then – Bette not photographer. Oh, well.
