Dear Diary—Chapter 1
Bette closed the diary and shook her head in shock
”Oh my God. I remember that” Bette gushed and giggled as she set the diary back in the top drawer of her night stand and shut it.
Bette then picked up the business card Tina had given her and grabbed her cellphone dialing the number listed on the card.
”Thank you for calling Kennard Law Firm. This is Cynthia. How may I help you?”
”Yes. My name is Bette Porter. I would like to schedule an appointment to meet with Tina Kennard please” Bette answered.
”Ok Ms. Porter. What is the reason you are seeking Ms. Kennard’s counsel?” Cynthia asked
”Well I recently split from my partner and wish to retain her services” Bette replied
”Very well. Let’s see. She has an opening today at 1pm. Would that time work for you?” Cynthia asked
”That will be perfect. Thanks” Bette responded glancing at the clock on her night stand and getting up off the bed to get a shower.
”Ok. We will see you at 1pm Ms. Porter” Cynthia replied as she ended the call.
Bette set her cellphone down on her nightstand, stripped off her nightie and headed to the shower since she had only two hours to get ready.
——————–
Tina pulled into her parking spot in front of her law office grabbing her briefcase and headed through the doors removing her shades in placing them on the top of her head.
”Oh. Ms. Kennard. We scheduled you a 1pm appointment for today” Cynthia stated flagging Tina down to stop at her desk.
”Well there goes my Young And The Restless hour” Tina joked as she grabbed her messages out of Cynthia’s hands. ”So who is my 1 o’clock?” Tina asked shuffling through her messages.
Cynthia looked down at the appointment book.
”Ms. Bette Porter” Cynthia replied as Tina’s eyes lit up upon hearing Bette’s name.
”Uhmm? Cynthia? Call Sylvia and reschedule our meeting that was set for 3pm today. Since this will be Ms. Porter’s initial consultation I want to give her as much time as possible to discuss and go over things” Tina instructed as she glanced at the clock on the wall.
Cynthia nodded and immediately picked up the phone while Tina headed to her office. She walked in setting her briefcase down on her desk and walked over to her extensive collection of law books and pulled domestic partnership cases from New York setting them on her conference table.
