    Dear Diary—Chapter 1

She met Wendy Valero, one of the top five fashion designers in the world, through the CPA office she worked for in New York. Of course when they got together she was just starting out. Bette worked as her accountant handling all of Wendy’s financial accounts and taxes. They quickly began dating and moved in together a year later. Bette still handled her taxes and accounts during their relationship without any pay and the more she thought about what Kit had suggested about getting a lawyer, the more she wanted to pursue that avenue.

Ready to get her mind off of her ex, she grabbed her salad and went and sat down on the sofa. After taking a few bites while staring at the diary, she set her plate down opting to engage her hunger in reading more from the mystery girl who carried feelings for her. She opened the diary to read the next entry.

    Dear Diary,

It’s been a few days since I shared anything with you but something great happened today. I was standing at my locker and Bette looked at me and smiled as she walked by. She actually made eye contact with me and acknowledged that I was a real person. Not a figment of someone’s imagination. I felt tingling all over. Although it was a ’blink and it was over’ kind of thing, I was over the moon. I watched as her gorgeous body floated like silk down the hall and hair bounce and sway angelic like against her shoulders. She had her hair down today and it was absolutely gorgeous. Her dark thick strands perfectly in place even in their movement. I felt myself drool at the site. Nobody noticed me staring or the saliva running down my chin because like I told you diary I’m invisible to everyone around me.

Bette felt a tear form in the corner of her right eye and slowly make its way down her cheek. How could she not remember this girl who seemed so sweet. High school back then was full of snobbish girls. Bette was not one of them. She made it a point to treat others as she wanted to be treated. It was nothing for her to smile at everyone as she passed down the hall so trying to figure out who this mystery girl is was going to be difficult.
