    It’s the last night and then time to go home.

     

    * * * * *

     

    When Kit opened the door Tina began to sob.  Kit helped her to the sofa and held her.

     

    ‘Let it go baby, I’ve got you.  Everything will be all right, you just go ahead and cry.’

     

    They sat there, Tina holding on to Kit as if her life depended on it until she began to calm down enough to talk.

     

    ‘I’m sorry Kit, I hoped I could do this without losing it.’

     

    ‘You don’t have to worry about that with me.  What ever you need, I’m right here.’

     

    ‘I’m not sure what I need.  I’m really not trying to put you in the middle.’

     

    ‘You don’t think I see my little sister’s faults?  Child who do you think you’re talking to?  There have been times I wondered why you bothered to stay.’

     

    ‘I wish I had the words to tell you what it’s like to be loved by Bette Porter.’

     

    ‘Oh, there’s no doubt she’s a force of nature.’

     

    ‘I love her Kit, more than I ever knew I could love someone.’

     

    ‘Why don’t you tell me what’s going on in that pretty little head of yours.’

     

    ‘I’ve forgiven Bette for sleeping with Candace, I know there were a lot of factors that played a part in what she did.  I don’t believe she did it to hurt me, if anything I think she might have done it to give me an out.  She was spiraling out of control and I should have seen it.’

     

    ‘So now you think this is your fault.’

     

    ‘I think we both made some very costly mistakes.  I think she believed that I was eventually going to leave her so she just made it easy.’

     

    ‘And she’s still trying to do that.’

     

    ‘What are you talking about?’

     

    ‘I told Bette I wouldn’t break your confidence and I won’t break hers.’

     

    ‘Kit, I need some help here, please.’

     

    ‘She asked me if I’d call her when you leave here today and let her know if I think you’re leaving her.’

     

    ‘What’s she going to do?’

     

    ‘She wants to make it easy for you, she’s not going to fight you.’

    6. I was holding my breathe the entire story with a pit in my tummy wondering what would happen. Great story, the loving make scene would be a great ending ;)
