    Cancun Mexico

    “Come on Bette…Our ride is waiting” the short haired blonde called out to her impatiently tapping her right foot and clutching the handle of her carry on

    “Jesus Christ Alice!..Give me two seconds to get the handle up on my suitcase” she groaned and rolled her eyes “Take Alice with you on vacation they said..It will be fun they said…Fucking liars” she muttered sarcastically to herself

    She plastered a fake smile on her face and walked toward her best friend

    “Alright you happy..Let’s go” Bette says sarcastically as Alice scoffs

    “Bette lighten up.  We are in Cancun..You need this ok..And it’s my job to make sure my best friend has fun”

    Bette internally groans.  She new Alice was right.  Alice had been her best friend since they were in grade school.  She had always been there for Bette and was her rock and lifeline when Tina left.  She was in a dark place for a long time and If it weren’t for Alice Bette knew she wouldn’t have been here at this moment.  She owes Alice her life and she decided to make the most of this trip enjoying herself with her best friend by her side

    “You’re right Al…Thanks” is all she could say knowing Alice would know there was more meaning behind it

    Alice turned giving Bette a small smile “You never have to thank me Bette”

    And Bette knew that..Alice was selfless and never expected anything return.  She loved Alice like her own sister and was suddenly feeling better about everything as they approached the taxi.  They slipped in the backseat while the driver put their luggage in the trunk. Once he was done he got in the driver seat and proceeded to their destination

    “So..You ok with being here?” Alice asked cautiously

    Bette sighed but then nodded “Yeah..I mean it’s been a long time Al..There are memories of her everywhere and I can’t avoid them all”

    Alice grabbed Bette’s hand giving it a comforting squeeze

    “Yeah but this is where you-”

    Bette quickly cut her off “I know Al.  Trust me I could never forget that.  But she did.  She forgot everything.  It wasn’t her fault though.  I have never blamed her for anything”

    1. What a heartbreaking beginning, you had me in tears for both Bette and Tina.

      I can’t imagine what Bette felt and still feels after she let the love of her life go because Tina didn’t remember anything after her accident. I am glad Bette has such a amazing friend in Alice, a friend who i suppose literally saved her life.

      It’s hard to watch Tina with Eric again, she did have a flashback about Bette proposing to her, it’s something but i imagine this story will be a slow burn before they are back together again.

    2. This chapter was full of angst and yearning. My favorite kind of beginning… let the reunion begin!
      Agree with Bibi this will be a slow burn and I am here for it

    5. OMG this is so good. Love the premise!!!! I feel like the story could have been flushed some more. Feels like we got three chapters in one. I wonder whether that means you will wrap up this one in a few chapters, unlike your other stories?? I love everything you write. Always keep us craving for more.
