“I know you haven’t Bette.  It’s just-”

Again Bette cut her off “Alice please.  I know.  This is where I proposed to her….Maybe being here I can get some kind of closure.  I don’t know”

Alice gave Bette’s head another comforting squeeze and laid her head on Bette’s shoulder and the two stayed in silence until the taxi pulled up to the resort

“Wow..This is gorgeous” Alice observes as they step out of the taxi “And looks like some kind of celebration is going on in the back” Alice pointed

Bette’s eyes glanced in the direction Alice was pointing “We are not crashing whatever that is Al”

Alice feigned hurt “What!..I didn’t say-”

Bette rolled her eyes as they walked to the entrance “I know you Al.  You had me crash every party while we were in college and then you made me crash that Bar mitzvah last year at the Beverly Hills Club”

Alice laughed “You know you enjoyed it because you spent the entire time dancing with the family who didn’t even question who we were”

Bette scoffs then chuckles “Fine!..I did have fun after a few drinks were in me”

“I knew it” Alice deadpanned as the two made their way to check in

Meanwhile—

The music was getting to her.  Actually the whole thing was getting to her.  She needed a break…After managing to slip away for a moment she found herself alone at the beach.  She could faintly hear the music in the distant.  The sun was starting to set over the horizon.  Something about this particular spot was so comforting to her.  She felt content and wasn’t sure why..She closed her eyes and breathed in the sweet salty sea air.  It seemed so familiar to her….and that’s when it happened. There was a flash behind her eyes causing her body to flinch and the scene was playing out for her..It was Bette on one knee holding out a ring..

“Tina…I don’t know what I did to deserve someone as wonderful as you to come into my life.  I know it wasn’t easy for you to come out to everyone and confess your love for me and I want to treasure that love always.  I have loved you from the moment I laid eyes on you and I promise to you that you will always be my priority and I will never take you or our love for granted.  I will always love you and protect you and put you above anything and everything else.  Even my own wants and needs.  You are the love of my life and I want to spend the rest of my life with you.  I love you Christina Denise Kennard..Will you do the extreme honor of marrying me and making me the happiest woman in the entire world?”
