    “Now get out and go do some work and try to give me some peace while I tackle all these emails “

    “Your sly old dog you “he said laughing
    “Get out James “she replied
    He did – Bette shook her head and went back to her inbox. A few minutes later he came back and put a glass of water and a couple of painkillers on her desk. Bette looked at the tablets and then at him
    “What?”

    “That’s for your hangover “

    Bette scratched her nose “I don’t have a hangover James “

    “You will when you sober up “

    Bette grinned and pushed the tablets back across the desk
    “I had two beers last night and two beers only“

    James looked at her trying to assimilate this information
    “I was not drunk last night – we slept together of our own free wills – nothing to do with drugs or drink. Now leave me alone and take the tablets with you “
    Bette waited until James left and reached for her mobile and sent Tina a text message
    “Last night was wonderful –I am looking forward to seeing you later B x “

    Tina had taken time before deciding on what to wear for her tip to the New York Public Library. She wanted to make a good impression but at the same time this was a different Porter she was trying to shine for. She decided on jeans, a black polo neck sweater and a jacket that was warm but still looked good. She tied her long blonde hair back and pulled on high heel black boots.
    Her trip across town gave her longer to think about how things had been with Bette. The more she thought about it the more she was coming to realise just how special the whole night had been. She was still lost in thought when she arrived at the library and went inside. She had spent time here when she was an undergraduate so she was familiar with the layout of the building. She strolled around for 15 minutes before she spotted Rosemary coming out of a meeting room. She waited to see where she went – she walked away from her colleagues and went to a water cooler and filled a plastic cup. Tina saw her opportunity.
    She went across to the cooler and took a cup

    2. 120 ch? Fantastic! Bring it on. We know you have it in you to write entertaining, brilliant, thought-out stories with many chapters to enjoy. I just say “The L Wing” with 328 chapters :-) Love it!

      This seems to be the week of multiple postings. I feel spoiled by you and all those other wonderful authors. Thanks for that!

      Now that Rosemary met Tina, she’ll be even more motivated to bring Bette and Tina together. I wonder what her new plan has to do with the library.
      It’s nice how comfortable Tina and Bette already are with each other. Meeting at Tina’s flat has potential for Emma dropping by unannounced.

      Looking forward for the next chapter.
