    The woman who’d saved him took a step back, to avoid crowding the frightened family, and smiled as she casually crossed her arms. “I think he’s fine. Just had a fright, that’s all. But he’s ok!” Tina stopped kissing her son and looked at the woman. “I … I …don’t know what to say …

    The woman who’d saved him took a step back, to avoid crowding the frightened family, and smiled as she casually crossed her arms. “I think he’s fine. Just had a fright, that’s all. But he’s ok!”

    Tina stopped kissing her son and looked at the woman. “I … I …don’t know what to say … how to thank you … “thank you” doesn’t seem to be enough… ”

    As she stammered Tina continued to stroke her son’s head. Angie was cooing at TJ, reaching up to offer her ice cream to him. “You okay TJ?” she asked him repeatedly, as she stroked her brother’s chubby bare leg.

    The woman took a hesitant step forward, and then reached out to rub TJ’s back. The boy’s head nestled on his mom’s shoulder, and he was reaching down to take a swipe at the tempting ice cream cone that his sister was offering him.

    “I’m just glad that I was nearby. I could see it unfolding as soon as he ran to the ropes together with the big kids … and I could see that you and your daughter were running over but would probably not get close enough to him in time, in case something happened.”

    Tina released an arm from under TJ, and continued to carry her son with the other arm. She reached to tap the woman’s arm briefly. “It happened so quickly. And all I know is you kept him from falling. We’re really very grateful … but I don’t know whether we can ever thank you enough.”

    As they spoke Tina finally noticed how TJ’s rescuer looked. Which was, in a word, gorgeous. Long legs encased in slim-fitting, fashionably torn-up jeans matched to black stack-heeled ankle boots; she also wore a simple v-neck white T-shirt casually half-tucked into her belted jeans that contrasted nicely with the woman’s mocha skin.  She had a long and lean silhouette, stood at around 5’9” in her ankle boots, and was effortlessly sexy in all the right places. She had light make-up on, and her large brown eyes wore a guileless expression. She glowed in the late afternoon sun.   Stunning. And what is up with that metallic blue lipstick?

    “No need to thank me, really. I was in the right spot at the right time ….”

      I don’t care that it isn’t a traditional Bette and Tina story line, but i wouldn’t mind if you give them more time in it ;-)

    3. It was a little early for my Pinot Noir, but well worth it, as it perfectly paired with your story. In fact, all of your stories are a full-spectrum sensory experience for me. Like a good glass of wine, I get lost in the color, bathe in the aroma, and relish the taste and texture of your scenes. Your give your protagonist characters a rich personality that I can’t help but instantly root for. While Bette and Tina initially drew me this this site and your stories, I really enjoy your other characters just as much.

      Aerin virtually stole the words out of my mouth. If I had a professor like Rian during my undergraduate years, perhaps I would have gotten better than a C+ in my Art History class. I may have even been persuaded to change majors with such impassioned lectures.

      As I was reading the dialogue between Jade and Rian’s mom, I was thinking that’s the type of mom I wish we had and we all would become. Well done.

Please do continue to let me know your thoughts as this story progresses – based on actual places and people – as we explore what it means to love, and be stripped bare even if fully-clothed, before another.
