Love in Control – Chapter II – Savannah (Part 2)

“You put yourself in the right spot at just the right time, actually,” Tina corrected her gently. Interesting, lilting, Bahamanian/Barbadian (?) accent.  “And TJ is lucky you had the right instincts.”

“Really not a big deal, believe me — I had years of experience anticipating, analyzing, and predicting how moving parts affect each other, and how to move people to the right spots, so I was simply operating on instincts”

Tina returned her quick smile. Those full, shapely lips somehow made that unusual lipstick shade work. Whoever she talks to wouldn’t be able to help but focus on that sexy mouth, if they could tear their eyes away from that beautiful face, of course. The woman was still stroking TJ’s back.

“That sounds like an interesting job … ” Tina observed after she gave TJ another kiss on his head and then set her son down. She smiled again at the woman.

Tina found that heart was still beating really fast from the panic she experienced on seeing her son hang precariously from the rope, and she sounded breathless. The woman, on the other hand, was talking calmly, her lilting, musical voice sounded effortless and was soothing to listen to. She was completely unruffled – as if rescuing four year old boys was something she did every day.

“I’m Tina, by the way,” the blonde introduced herself. “And these are my kids, TJ, you already met…” They shared a laugh. “And Angelica.” Attractive laugh, on top of everything else.

Angelica looked up at the tall, beautiful woman who’d saved her brother. She stopped playing with TJ. “Hi.”

“Hi, Angelica, I’m Kaci,” the woman said with a smile, bending down from the waist and extending her hand.

“You’re very pretty. Thank you for saving TJ,” Angie answered, returning the woman’s smile with what she hoped was an equally charming smile, as she shook the offered hand. Her skin is so soft, just like Momma B’s after she put lotion on!

“Kaci, are you here with kids of your own, or …” Tina started to ask.

“Noo… no kids of my own. I’m visiting New York, by myself … seems odd for me to be in a playground, I know,” Kaci explained quickly and then broke into that attractive, lilting laugh that Tina found she enjoyed hearing. Kaci seemed to have a giggly, quick-to-smile, easy, laid-back attitude.

    1. So pleased to read your story!

I don’t care that it isn’t a traditional Bette and Tina story line, but i wouldn’t mind if you give them more time in it ;-)

That was such a heart warming talk between Jade and Rian’s mom.

      Thanks for the update!

    2. It was a little early for my Pinot Noir, but well worth it, as it perfectly paired with your story. In fact, all of your stories are a full-spectrum sensory experience for me. Like a good glass of wine, I get lost in the color, bathe in the aroma, and relish the taste and texture of your scenes. Your give your protagonist characters a rich personality that I can’t help but instantly root for. While Bette and Tina initially drew me this this site and your stories, I really enjoy your other characters just as much.

Aerin virtually stole the words out of my mouth. If I had a professor like Rian during my undergraduate years, perhaps I would have gotten better than a C+ in my Art History class. I may have even been persuaded to change majors with such impassioned lectures.

As I was reading the dialogue between Jade and Rian’s mom, I was thinking that’s the type of mom I wish we had and we all would become. Well done.

    3. I normally am only interested in Bette and Tina stories, but not with this one im loving all your characters , and story lines, i can”t wait to read more. Thank you

      • Thanks for all your comments don70! Am glad you and others enjoy reading about these characters and am happy you find the different storylines they inhabit interesting. Please do continue to let me know your thoughts as this story progresses – based on actual places and people – as we explore what it means to love, and be stripped bare even if fully-clothed, before another.

    4. Genuine art has the power to strengthen the spirit of the people.
I loved Rian lecture, I applaud the end of the lecture.
And please do not let Tina looks at this Kaci, from what I read,
      I realized, it will happen.
      The complete constellation.
