Love in Control – Chapter II – Savannah (Part 2)

“Yeah, it does seems unusual for a visitor to include a Central Park playground in her itinerary …” Tina cocked her head to one side, her question hung in the air.

“Not here as a tourist, unfortunately. I’m doing some advanced … um…reconassaince, I guess you could best describe it.”

Tina smiled, waiting for more. Kaci laughed lightly at the blonde’s evident curiousity. “For my cousin. She may move to New York, and she asked me to check certain places out, like the playgrounds, schools, certain areas she may be considering to either buy or rent an apartment in – places like that. I’ve been wandering around those kinds ofn places for the past couple of days, just checking things out.”

“I’m familiar with the drill, believe it or not,” Tina answered with a laugh, also. “In my business, people move into New York for certain periods of time, all the time, and some have had people check things out for them also before they move.”

“My cousin’s not sure, yet, whether she’ll move to New York with her daughter. But I thought I’d do her this favor now, while I had a hole in my schedule, to check things out for her.  She’s very wary about any possible risks that could harm her daughter or herself if she did move here. She could have hired people to do this, but she wouldn’t trust this task to anyone else, even those who may do this for a living.”

Tina nodded her understanding.   She found that her heartbeat had normalized, and the pleasing conversation with Kaci had helped to settle her nerves.

A mother’s shout near them was a strident reminder that they were standing in the middle of a noisy playground filled with excited kids who, like Angie and TJ, wanted to take advantage of the unseasonably warm pre-holiday weather and play outside.

They smiled at each other. Tina blurted out, “Why don’t we go elsewhere? How about you join us for an early dinner or something?”

Kaci checked her smart-watch, and then pulled her phone out, and tapped what looked like a calendar app. “Just checking if I’d made the appointment with a school today.”

She put her phone back into her pocket. “Looks like it’s for tomorrow afternoon, not today.”

    1. So pleased to read your story!

I don’t care that it isn’t a traditional Bette and Tina story line, but i wouldn’t mind if you give them more time in it ;-)

That was such a heart warming talk between Jade and Rian’s mom.

      Thanks for the update!

    2. It was a little early for my Pinot Noir, but well worth it, as it perfectly paired with your story. In fact, all of your stories are a full-spectrum sensory experience for me. Like a good glass of wine, I get lost in the color, bathe in the aroma, and relish the taste and texture of your scenes. Your give your protagonist characters a rich personality that I can’t help but instantly root for. While Bette and Tina initially drew me this this site and your stories, I really enjoy your other characters just as much.

Aerin virtually stole the words out of my mouth. If I had a professor like Rian during my undergraduate years, perhaps I would have gotten better than a C+ in my Art History class. I may have even been persuaded to change majors with such impassioned lectures.

As I was reading the dialogue between Jade and Rian’s mom, I was thinking that’s the type of mom I wish we had and we all would become. Well done.

    3. I normally am only interested in Bette and Tina stories, but not with this one im loving all your characters , and story lines, i can”t wait to read more. Thank you

    4. Genuine art has the power to strengthen the spirit of the people.
I loved Rian lecture, I applaud the end of the lecture.
And please do not let Tina looks at this Kaci, from what I read,
      I realized, it will happen.
      The complete constellation.
