“Do you still want me to sit here?” She asks bringing Tina away from her notepad to look at her

“Yes of course. I’m sorry” she says patting the space beside her.

Bette smiles apologetically and sits beside Tina placing her backpack next to her

“I had an idea for a song and the lyrics were popping up in my head.  When that happens I have to write them down. Just give me one second” she says turning back to her notepad scribbling furiously

Bette nods and stays silent as Ollie turns the bus out on to the road with the momentum throwing Tina almost into Bette’s lap.

“Whoa there” Bette says chuckling and catching Tina by the arms and pushing her back upright. The scent of her perfume reaching her nostrils.  She smells so good Bette thought

“God I’m sorry” Tina looked at Bette horrified

Bette chuckled “It’s ok.  I’m glad I was here otherwise I think you would have been thrown off the seat”

Tina chuckled “Well it wouldn’t be the first time”

They both laughed in unison as Tina put up her notepad and turned to face Bette.  Her back leaning against the wall of the bus

“So I want us to get to know each other so this can be like 20 questions. I will ask you questions and then you can ask me questions. Sound good?”

Bette smiles and nods “I’m game.  So is this anything goes kind of questions or do we keep the real personal stuff out of it?”

Tina chuckled “I’m an open book so I don’t care if you ask me the really personal questions but maybe we should start with general ones first. Icebreaker style”

“Good enough for me..We have at least 12 hours right?”

Tina nodded “Yes.. So I think it will be safe to say we will know a lot about each other after this”

“Right.  So you start then”

Tina nodded  “Alright.  So I know you live in Philadelphia so I don’t need to ask that.  But are you originally from here”

“Yes.  Born and raised”

“What about your family?”

“My dad Melvin is a civil engineer with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and my mom Maxine is high school teacher at Pratt High where I graduated from.  I have an older brother Lance in the Air Force. He is a fighter pilot” Bette replies
