    Past and Present Clashing

She’d become introspective and couldn’t hold back the tears when her mind drifted to that dark place of more than a year ago.

It had started with all the stress of trying to get pregnant the first time but really spiraled when they suffered the miscarriage. Instead of coming together to deal with it emotionally they drifted apart physically. It got so bad that Tina completely shut down, and when Bette couldn’t fix things she questioned if she was falling out of love with her wife. Tina was always Bette’s anchor, but the depression had overtaken her ability to recognize that Bette was flailing and needed grounding.

In addition to the devastating loss of a child Bette wasn’t managing the pressures from work. She was confronted by a bigot that accused her of being a pornographer because of the sexually explicit exhibit she’d procured for the museum. But the final injustice that broke her was when the woman making the accusations equated the loss of her and Tina’s baby to punishment from God for their sinful homosexual lifestyle.

It was in this fragile state that Bette had uttered three words ‘take me someplace’ while sitting in the passenger seat of the carpenter’s truck that had put her on a self-destructive course for which she was still remorseful. She’d not only jeopardized her marriage, but unbeknownst to her at the time she also risked her second chance to be a mother.

When the carpenter threw her onto the king-sized bed that took up most of the space in the boutique hotel room and held her arms over her head while forcibly kissing her, she relinquished the little power that she had to stop it. It wasn’t just the body that she’d pledged to Tina that was being fucked by this other woman, it was her heart mind and soul. She’d discarded her convictions in the same manner that her clothing was stripped from her body.

She was aroused by rough carpenter’s hands so unlike the soft manicured fingers she’d craved touching her in intimate places where no other belonged. The unfamiliar taste of full lips and tongue wrestling with hers; the gleam of sweat on darkened nipples blending with her own instead of the contrasting pink hues of her blonde wife’s pallor was visual evidence of her unfaithfulness.

    1. Nice chapter….I think they still need to do a bit more talking. They both felt in the past, they were being rejected sexually by each other. They need to explore the roots of this and how it brought them to the actions they took. That is going to be a painful discussion. Bette seems surprised that Tina thought that she was not sexually attractive to Bette. In these type situations, its never a single event but a string of events which when put together appears to look like rejection. If they do not explore this together, then they are bound to repeat their old habits and there will be trouble in the future. They have made a good start at this process and the more of these type of conversations they have without judgement and without malice, the stronger their relationship will become. They will bond on a higher and more stable level than they are now. They are well on their way to a strong and stable relationship.

I love the fact that Melvin has come to accept Tina and Angie as members of his family. I love the fact that Bette wants to include him in wedding. Now if they could see a change in Tina’s family, they could live happily ever after!

Thanks for this story….. perhaps another chapter soon? It seems close to being finished.

    2. Thank you for the chapter!

Always be curious – even before miscarriage, when Bette starting asking herself if she fallen out of love with Tina – if it was just fear of having baby or not? And isn’t it to trigger her affair with Candace?

    3. Hi BAT2012,

I am so glad to see a new chapter from you!

It is good to see that both are committed not to make the same mistakes and are actually talking and opening up about their fears (Bette) and Tina explaining she didn’t feel desired anymore by Bette.

If they keep talking i see a great future for them as a couple and as family with Angelica!

      Thanks for your update!
