Side Effects Chapter 11 – WEDDING TIME

Maxine: “hmm, very interesting”
Tina: “I’m sorry… I didn’t mean to be disrespectful…”
Maxine: “it’s okay…, I know what is to be young…, and in love…, but I have to talk to Melvin, he loves Bette very much, but he is as stubborn as her, they have to reconcile…, Tina do you know how to make scrambled eggs?”
Bette came down quickly looking for Tina and found her and her mom in the kitchen, Maxine apologized and she and Bette hug each other; when the rest of the family gathered around the table for breakfast, there was silence, and when they were almost finished, Maxine spoke up.
Maxine: “I think we all have to apologize to Bette and Tina for violating their privacy…, especially because we haven’t seen Bette for a while and we really miss her, we all were concerned but that is not an excuse for what we did, particularly you Melvin”
Melvin: “me…? What did I do?”
Marcus and Kit looked at her father and supported Maxine comment
Maxine: “you came up yelling at her for something that wasn’t her fault”
Melvin: “okay…, but if someone has to be blamed it’s Marcus”
Marcus: “I accept my responsibility on that, but why you had to come upstairs and make a scandal at that time”
Bette stood up and left while speaking up.
Bette: “why you have to be always a jerk father”
Maxine stopped her husband from saying any word; Tina followed Bette, who went outside.
Tina: “baby, are you okay”
Bette: (sobbing) “I’m sorry Tina, I didn’t want you to see how ugly things are here”
Tina: “no honey, please don’t cry, and it’s not that bad, is just your dad and you, everybody else is on your side, and look baby, this is your family and you are my girlfriend, so your family is, also, sort of my family, as well as my mom, will be always your family too”
The innocent words of Tina, made Bette meditate about her situation and her feelings, yes, she loves Tina very much and is very happy with her, and saying that Tina loves her is an understatement, she practically adores her, and perhaps one day, maybe…, yes maybe she will be her wife, the mother of her children, or maybe she, Bette, will carry their offspring; indeed she realized at that moment that the blonde is and will always be her family, if nothing wrong happens of course. She dried her tears and kissed her, after a few minutes they enter the house again, there were hopes in her eyes.

Yup, you’re totally right, I was thinking to write more of the wedding, too, I even have partially written the wedding vows, but it was going to be too long and I needed to reach the scene of Tasha and Alice; besides sometimes I put much attention to some general comments and PMs, and I didn’t want to have a rating R or 17, this time.
But “the night is young” and who knows what will happen in the next chapters that will have the wedding night in the beginning.
For my next wedding (I mean TIBETTE’s wedding) I’ll write more in detail.

My lovely wife allowed me to read your update!
I am so glad Bette &Tina are married and that Tina’s mom was there. But i am still a little worried how Tina is going to react when she finds out Bette was in contact with Louise. She will be pissed of.
Alice & Tasha, hmm, i loved them together in the L Word. But i think Tasha gets her heart broken when Alice &Dana will be reunited.
Mr. Kennard get what he deserve and i hope this will be only the beginning.
