Side Effects Chapter 11 – WEDDING TIME

Melvin: “she is our guest, she’ll seat in the front with me”
Bette was amazed, and at the same time angry, her dad is still the same jerk, but at least he likes Tina; who at that moment turned to see her and whisper in her ear.
Tina: “is it fine, Bette?”
Bette: “sure baby, as long as he’s treating you well, I’ll be okay”
The girls got on the car while Melvin talked to the guys of the workshop to tow Bette’s car, it was the day before Thanksgiving, when they usually close, but they knew Melvin and came to pick up the car as a favor to him; inside the car Melvin remarked it to Bette, and they rode to the Porter’s home. In the way, Tina was admiring all the night view, it was already 9 pm and she starts asking questions about the neighborhood, the parks, and some landmarks and Melvin was happily answering her questions; after 15 minutes they arrived home, Tina and Bette start taking their belongs, but Melvin took the things from Tina and carried them inside, so Tina try to help Bette.
Tina: “let me help you with that, your daddy took mines, he is very nice”
Bette: “apparently…, it’s a part of him I didn’t know…”
The Porter’s home was a very comfortable three-story house; in the first floor were located the living and dining rooms, the kitchen, a bathroom and a room for Melvin’s rehearsals; in the second floor the dormitories of Melvin and Maxine and the one of Kit, there were two bathrooms and a room Maxine uses as home-office; in the third floor were Bette’s and Marcus’ bedrooms, two bathrooms and a small room for Kit’s rehearsals.
Maxine came to the living room to hug her daughter and to be introduced to Tina; she told them to take her things to Bette’s old bedroom in the third floor, Marcus came from the kitchen too and introduced himself to Tina after hugging her sister and offered to help them with their luggage.
Bette: (looking at her brother while climbing the stairs) “why you didn’t come to pick us up instead of dad?”
Marcus: “I just arrived, mom told me your car broke down…, was dad impolite with Tina?”

Yup, you’re totally right, I was thinking to write more of the wedding, too, I even have partially written the wedding vows, but it was going to be too long and I needed to reach the scene of Tasha and Alice; besides sometimes I put much attention to some general comments and PMs, and I didn’t want to have a rating R or 17, this time.
But “the night is young” and who knows what will happen in the next chapters that will have the wedding night in the beginning.
For my next wedding (I mean TIBETTE’s wedding) I’ll write more in detail.

My lovely wife allowed me to read your update!
I am so glad Bette &Tina are married and that Tina’s mom was there. But i am still a little worried how Tina is going to react when she finds out Bette was in contact with Louise. She will be pissed of.
Alice & Tasha, hmm, i loved them together in the L Word. But i think Tasha gets her heart broken when Alice &Dana will be reunited.
Mr. Kennard get what he deserve and i hope this will be only the beginning.
