Side Effects Chapter 11 – WEDDING TIME

Bette: “oh no…”
Tina: “what’s up baby?”
Bette: “this is no good…, the temperature gauge is rising and the engine is hot…”
Tina: “did you check the water?”
Bette: “yes, it is fine…, but that noise, maybe something is broken”
Tina: “maybe is the radiator fan”
Bette: “hmm…, yeah, it may be that”
Bette got off the car, opened the trunk and asked Tina to push the gas, and the radiator fan didn’t move.
Bette: “yup, I think you were right, is the fan…”
Tina: “How far are we from your house?”
Bette: “no that far, maybe I should call home, and maybe someone can pick us up”
When Bette called home, her mother answer and told her that her sister and brother were out and her father would pick them up; Bette was fearful and angry, she doesn’t want her father to be the first person of her family Tina is going to see today, he may be cruel with her and Bette was mad at this situation.
Tina: “so…, is someone coming for us?”
Bette: “shit…, my father is coming…”
Tina: “what’s wrong honey?”
Bette: “that man is cruel Tina… if he hurt you I’ll never speak with him again”
Tina hugged her girlfriend and consoled her, now she knew about the father-daughter dispute because of Bette’s career choice.
Tina: “don’t worry baby, I love you and nothing nor nobody will change that”
Bette kissed her; they waited ten minutes more and Melvin arrived, Bette greeted her father coldly and introduced her girlfriend, Tina couldn’t hide her excitement to meet the musician she admired since long ago.
Tina: “Mister Porter, is a real pleasure to meet you, I’m a great admirer of your music and your fabulous group”
Melvin: (feeling flattered) “the pleasure is mine young lady, now let me help you with your luggage, Bette you can put your things in the trunk…, what else we have here?”
Tina: “oh…, my mom prepared some dishes from our town for the dinner”
Melvin: (opening one of the boxes) “hmm, tamales, I like tamales, let me put the boxes in the back seat, I’ll call the tow to take the car to the workshop; Bette, you’ll go in the back seat”
Bette: “and Tina…?”

Yup, you’re totally right, I was thinking to write more of the wedding, too, I even have partially written the wedding vows, but it was going to be too long and I needed to reach the scene of Tasha and Alice; besides sometimes I put much attention to some general comments and PMs, and I didn’t want to have a rating R or 17, this time.
But “the night is young” and who knows what will happen in the next chapters that will have the wedding night in the beginning.
For my next wedding (I mean TIBETTE’s wedding) I’ll write more in detail.

My lovely wife allowed me to read your update!
I am so glad Bette &Tina are married and that Tina’s mom was there. But i am still a little worried how Tina is going to react when she finds out Bette was in contact with Louise. She will be pissed of.
Alice & Tasha, hmm, i loved them together in the L Word. But i think Tasha gets her heart broken when Alice &Dana will be reunited.
Mr. Kennard get what he deserve and i hope this will be only the beginning.
