Side Effects Chapter 9 – FACING EVIL

Dan: “well, I think many of them would be able to heal in a certain way, I doubt they could forget whatever happened during the kidnapping, but I think they will be able to get their lives back”

Jane: “what percent of them do you think will be able to ‘heal in a certain way’?”

Dan: “at the moment, I believe, probably the 80 percent of the physically cured victims”

Jane: “that makes the 80 percent of 70 percent…, hmm that is 56 percent…, I could round it to 60 percent, hmm, it sounds good”

Maura: “Jane, I don’t want to be a party pooper, but do you have any information form Dana and the other kidnaped girls?”

Jane: “I’m waiting for news from NYPD, but so far nothing new…, Bette is there any new online information about the suspects, any email of a file?”

Bette: “only these two reports, one indicating that Coleman and his cousin Josh are missing, and the other one about the plans to use Tina’s mom to force her to work with them, otherwise they will take Tina’s current girlfriend with the same purpose”

    Jane: “This means, you”

Everybody in the room looked toward the couple with a knowing face; Bette was dumbfounded, Tina and she have tried to be discrete, but apparently, it was in vain, because they didn’t fool anybody.

Bette: “… well…, I have no idea what they know or think about Tina’s romantic life”

Jane: “hmm, you’re right…, but, we know and you both need special protection…, what about your mom, Tina?”

Tina: “I talked to her last Monday, she said she was taking a vacation out of the country, she didn’t say where; when I asked if she was going tp go alone, she said that my aunt Toni and her wife will go with her…, so I suspect they will be in a private island or in Europe, she said she will call me every week…; I think she believes her life is in danger”

Tina’s information about her mother wasn’t a surprise to Bette; she already received the phone call of Louise informing her about Mani leaving the country.

Jane: “that’s good, now we only need to take care of you both, and fortunately you are always together…”

      • Hi SG:

I’m sorry, I knew you don’t like cliffhangers, but I left a cryptic message in FB and twitter for those like you who don’t like them, and is also in my author note.

But, anyway, apparently, I will have a little more time next week and I will try to post soon (I hope).

        Thanks for reading and commenting.

      • Hi Bibi:

Thanks for your comment, I’ll try to update soon.

However, the ‘clue’ to solving the cliffhanger, is in those last two chapters. Then you may have an idea of what is coming in the next chapter.

The cliffhanger is the reason why this chapter is a bit longer than the former ones because I wanted to reach this point. Now, I’m feeling a little guilty.

Thank you so much, my friend, for your last words, and I’ll try my best to post soon.
