    “Bay…ette, stop.” Bette took a sip of her whiskey when she thought she heard Tina slip and start to call her baby. She turned to face her. “What Tina? What? You didn’t want champagne. I congratulated you. You should be happy that I reacted so positively. I do have Angie to think about.” “WE have

    “Bay…ette, stop.”

    Bette took a sip of her whiskey when she thought she heard Tina slip and start to call her baby. She turned to face her.

    “What Tina? What? You didn’t want champagne. I congratulated you. You should be happy that I reacted so positively. I do have Angie to think about.”

    “WE have Angie to think about.”

    “I’m sorry, Tina. I’m having a very hard time with the ‘we’ aspect right now.”

    Tina shuffled back, a hand on her hip, biting her lips together and looking down.

    “Ask me what I wanted.”

    “What?”

    “Ask Me. What. I. Wanted.”

    Bette rolled her eyes. “What did you want, Tina?”

    Tina climbed the few stairs to meet Bette, Bette’s face hovering just one step above.

    “I didn’t want you to congratulate me. I wanted you to want me.”

    Bette laughed. “Oh so you wanted me to be jealous? Why? Some sort of power thing for you?”

    Tina shook her head. “No, just the opposite really. I just…” Tina lifted her eyes to Bette’s and ran her fingers through Bette’s curls before continuing in a raspy murmur. “I just wanted you to get down on your knees and tell me you still love me.”

    Bette stopped laughing and a sarcastic snort slipped out from her inner monologue.

    “That’s why I’m here right now. I need to know if you are genuinely happy for me or if-”

    Bette took another sip of her drink before interrupting Tina again. “I want you to be happy, Tina. Yes. Are you happy?”

    Tina took the glass from Bette’s hand, downed the rest of the whiskey, and set the glass aside. She stepped on to the same step as Bette, inching her mouth closer to the brunette’s. They could smell the whiskey on each other’s breath. Bette studied Tina’s face, reveling in the closeness of the beauty she had so missed. The blonde hair falling over one eye, the intoxicating smell of honey and citrus that never stopped sending Bette into a tailspin, the soft lips that met each other perfectly above the adorable chin dimples.

    “Do I look happy to you?” Tina looked into Bette’s eyes, making her intention known.

    Bette moved Tina’s hair behind her ear to get a better look at her lovely face. The hazel eyes now surging with fiery ginger. Bette tried to resist the heat emanating from Tina’s closeness, but she knew she was putty in Tina Kennard’s hands, allowing her ex-wife to mold her into a groveling, lustful, lovesick woman. She didn’t have the energy to stop her, and more importantly, stop herself. Bette wanted nothing more at that moment than to have her tongue loll in Tina’s mouth, bend her over the railing and fuck her senseless.

    1. This is a good story…. however, I think that Tina is a royal bitch. Sorry… what was the purpose of that? Sex for old time sakes? Seduce Bette? Then walk out the door to go meet with Carrie and carry on with the marriage plans? I find this Tina to be rather sadistic at best. She is being cruel and heartless to have announced her marriage, seduce Bette and leave her with a “I’ll always love you.”

      Oh, and it is not Bette’s role in life to determine whether Tina is happy or not. It is a presumption that all people make the choices in their life for their own benefit and happiness. If Tina has agreed to marry Carrie, its because she wants to marry Carrie and believes it will result in happiness in her life. If that is not Tina’s belief then she is the one who needs to make another decision and take the actions that will make her happy. Tina is a grown woman – she choose to leave Bette, She agreed to marry Carrie and now she is using Bette apparently for her own physical pleasure for whatever reason. This is cruel for all those involved…. not good Tina…. Not good at all.

      • I’m glad it wasn’t just me who felt the same way at the end of this story. My heart fell with sadness for Bette at being used by Tina.
        After that i wouldn’t want to fight for Tine after that cruelty.

      • Loved this story. But I think I had a different interpretation than others. I don’t think Tina was being cruel. I think she’s acting like the lost little bird she always is when she’s not ‘with’ Bette. She knows she loves Bette, she tells Bette she loves her but now she’s made everything worse, panics, and runs. I still hope you continue it
