The Conversion

Tina: Yes, very. Good night, Bette, sleep well.
Bette: Good night, Sweetie.
I grinned at the pet name she had given me. I have no idea if it was meaningful or not, but there it was and it gave me a good feeling. I wasn’t long before I was asleep.
The Conversion
Chapter 5 – Last Day at Camp David
The next morning, Bette got out of bed early and went to the toilet. I remember that I rolled over on my back and that is when I noticed that the sun was up. It was time to get up. So, I got up and put on my robe and waited for my turn in the bath room.
Bette: Good morning, Tina. Did I wake you?
Tina: Yes, but I think it’s time to get up. The sun is up and I need to pee.
Bette: Be my guest. I will look for something to wear.
After I used the toilet and then I brushed my teeth, I went to dress and ready myself for the day. Bette had on another jogging suit along with some tennis shoes. So, I proceeded to quickly dress at the closet pulling off my pajamas and finding a sports bra and putting on a t-shirt and a jogging suit. When I turned around, I realized that I had been half naked for a brief moment in front of Bette. Fortunately, she acted as if she hadn’t noticed. Years later she told me the fact that I was not concern with my modesty actually pleased her. For her it was a sign that I trusted her not to be inappropriate. And I guess I did. I certainly didn’t think about it until it was all over.
Tina: I’m hungry and I am ready for some coffee.
Bette: Waiting on you.
We went directly to the dining table and Andy’s assistant Josh met us with our coffee and water. We then received our breakfast of cheesy scrambled eggs, bacon and hash browns with biscuits and jam. There were also some orange slices. Really a nice breakfast. Biscuits are served in the south and I had not expected them here at Camp David.
Bette: Okay, what’s on our agenda for today?

Well, what a story, I really enjoyed it.
I love how they meet, their time at Camp David and the natural progression they took together.
Try really are perfect for each other and your story certainly reflects that.
I still can’t bear to think of them not being together!
Thank you so much, a beautiful story.
I look forward to the next one.
Janice24,
First of all this story is an alternative time and life for our Bette and Tina. The story is being told by a woman who is older (85 years old) and has experienced a full and joyful life with the woman she loved. They have had more than 40 years together even though they didn’t meet until they were middled aged. I like that they took the time to get to know one another for a few days before charging into a romantic relationship. I like that Bette insist that Tina think about her own life and if she is prepared for the changes which will occur as they start to see each other romantically. Bette wants Tina to make her decision about her life knowing the possible downside. For me, that shows immediately how much Bette respects and cares for Tina right out of starting gates. I also like that Bette insist they talk about things fully as they go. She seeks out Tina’s boundaries and comfort level before they do anything. This is why their relationship is so strong…. they hide nothing from each other.
From the idea to publication, I took 4 days… I enjoyed writing this story because I could see that both Bette and Tina would go from a mundane life to a life of love and devotion within a matter of weeks. And it would result in a lifetime of happiness. Isn’t that what we all want in our lives?
Thank for reading and for commenting on this story… until I saw your comments, I didn’t think anyone had read it…. Thank you for your support and encouragement…
OMG! How did I let this gem get past me. I loved every word. I would love to read something else from you, thank you so much for your talent.
OneStorm1 – Thank you for reading… I published this a little more than a year ago and I posted it this year on Achieve of Our Own. I do have three long book stories which is a single series and one other one shot which is about the same length as this one. I then not to writer about angst and problems between Bette and Tina. I think there are plenty of authors who present those kind of stories. All my published stories are on this website. Go to the story search page, put my name in under author (Martha3128) and they are all listed.
