Bette: That is good to know. I received a boat load of money from my father when he died. He gave 50% to me and 50% to Kit. And that has basically financed my writing career as well. My books sales have done well for this category, and I have had some speaker fees along the way. My home is paid for and I have lived a moderate life style as well. My investment portfolio has done well and if I never write another book or do another lecture, I could live a very comfortable life and not worry about a thing.
Tina: Wow… we both have paid for homes and vehicles and a nice nest egg to live on. You know that is rather rare these days.
Bette: Well, most people have children which are not conducive to building a nest egg. And most people do not have a wind fall as the result of a divorce or the death of a loved one either.
Bette then pulled me into a hug and was just holding me. I felt so comfortable and I then began to kiss her. She kissed me back and with her tongue she licked my top lip and I automatically opened my mouth. Her tongue immediately dove in and began to explore. I felt my body begin to flush and I had to pull away to get a breath. She then started to kiss my nose and cheeks and started down my neck. I heard myself moan and my breathing deepen. And she pulled back and looked at me and said “you are so beautiful.” Her eyes were hooded in what could only be interpreted as lust and desire. I went back in for another open mouth kiss. I heard another moan. Maybe it was mine or may have been hers. She finally pulled back.
Bette: Maybe we need to slow down just a bit or I’m going to lose control.
Tina: You are an amazing kisser. I am getting a bit hot. Yeah, maybe we need to slow down a bit. But you know, I don’t want to slow down.
Bette: Well, then maybe we should go prepare for bed and see what happens.
Tina: Okay…
Bette got up and pulled me up and the lead me to the master bedroom. She then wrapped me in her arms and kissed me then rocked me a little and said she was going to put on her pajamas. She would be back in a few minutes. I held her hand as she walked away until only our finger tips touched. I then rushed around turning on the side table lamps, turning down the bed and turning off the overhead light. I then quickly went to the bathroom, put on my pajamas and put on my lotion on my arms and legs. I then brushed my teeth, and gargled with mouth wash and put on some colorless lip balm. It was winter and I was afraid my lips were a little dry. I then got into my bed on my usual side and arranged the pillows to sit up while I waited. I then just stared at the door. All I could think about was that kiss or rather those kisses I had just shared with Bette. I don’t remember a kiss that felt like that; that was that sensual and that just all-consuming as the kisses were with Bette.

I love how they meet, their time at Camp David and the natural progression they took together.
Try really are perfect for each other and your story certainly reflects that.

First of all this story is an alternative time and life for our Bette and Tina. The story is being told by a woman who is older (85 years old) and has experienced a full and joyful life with the woman she loved. They have had more than 40 years together even though they didn’t meet until they were middled aged. I like that they took the time to get to know one another for a few days before charging into a romantic relationship. I like that Bette insist that Tina think about her own life and if she is prepared for the changes which will occur as they start to see each other romantically. Bette wants Tina to make her decision about her life knowing the possible downside. For me, that shows immediately how much Bette respects and cares for Tina right out of starting gates. I also like that Bette insist they talk about things fully as they go. She seeks out Tina’s boundaries and comfort level before they do anything. This is why their relationship is so strong…. they hide nothing from each other.
From the idea to publication, I took 4 days… I enjoyed writing this story because I could see that both Bette and Tina would go from a mundane life to a life of love and devotion within a matter of weeks. And it would result in a lifetime of happiness. Isn’t that what we all want in our lives?

OneStorm1 – Thank you for reading… I published this a little more than a year ago and I posted it this year on Achieve of Our Own. I do have three long book stories which is a single series and one other one shot which is about the same length as this one. I then not to writer about angst and problems between Bette and Tina. I think there are plenty of authors who present those kind of stories. All my published stories are on this website.
