    The Island – Chapter 20

“She can’t call you. My dear honey bunny doesn’t believe in cell phones, remember?” Tina raises her voice, not liking a second date between them. Bette ignores her and looks at Stacy, completely embarrassed.

“Thank you for everything. I’ll come by your office on Monday.” Bette takes her hand and gives it a gentle squeeze. Stacy smiles, she walks out shaking her head and chuckling, knowing exactly what the lucky blond is in for.

“What’s going on Bette? Who was that woman?”

“Say goodbye to your friends and come with me.” Bette grins. Her eyes are wide with excitement.

    “Where?”

    “It’s a surprise.”

“Tell me where we are going and who the fuck was that woman?”

“Please, just trust me.” Bette pleads. She feels the heat in her cheeks. Tina glares, her defenses rising to the occasion. She takes a deep breath, hoping to quiet her pounding heart.

“I have to ask you something first…. And I can’t believe you called me a pickle.” Tina huffs, Bette stifles a chuckle. “Ass!” Tina whispers to herself before leading Bette back to her table. She inhales deeply, summoning every ounce of courage she could muster. She is desperate for a reasonable explanation, for the truth, but can’t stop the fear and heartbreak taking over as if Bette is already guilty. She shakes her head, shaking away the darkness and looks Bette in the eyes. She wants to be strong. She wants to believe. She shows Bette the copy of the cashed check. “Please tell me you did not take money from the mafia, and that you are not working for the mob? That you had no part in trying to kill me?” Tina puts her hands on her hips while Bette studies the check. She lifts her head with a furrowed brow at Tina’s last question.

“You’ve got to be fucking kidding me.” Bette’s eyes widen with disbelief. She can feel her heart breaking.

    “Bette, tell me the truth.”

“I will tell you the truth, but please, not here.”

“That’s convenient.” Helena says sarcastically. She suddenly sits back and cowers at the hard look Bette gives her. Bette returns her attention to Tina who sighs loudly.

“Just tell me Bette. I’ve had enough of your deep dark secrets.” Tina is lost and exasperated. She’s finding the restaurant extremely warm as she prepares herself for the biggest letdown of her life.

    1. TINA,to be so in love with BETTE you doubt her at the drop of a hat. Promises comes out your mouth but dumbness creeps in your brain. Well little rich girl, you FINALLY broke the camel’s back with BETTE and it was by your own hand .HELENA had her own agenda but TINA allowed it to come between her and her girlfriend.Sorry TINA you lose for now.pps thanlks

    2. No no no!!! This is the punishment Tina has
By leaving Helena always meddling in his
relationship with Bette. And having even discover
the truth behind the actions Helena, too late.
Tina did not yield Bette nor the benefit of the doubt.
      The complete constellation.

    3. I still don’t know what a love boodle is. I gladly invite those readers who have heard it to please define it for me lol! Great chapter Little P. Can’t wait for the next.

      • meloveslu

        love boodle

        noun

person, who engages in uncustomary acts by way of acquiring the affections of a suitor.

        – She spent her days anticipating the moment when she could take Tina into the garden shed and release her inner love boodle.

        ORIGIN late Middle English

It’s a derogatory term – not sure why LP is so drawn to it…..

        • Ah Ally, I never meant it as a derogatory term. It’s a term of endearment I remember from my younger days, which just happens to be a very very long time ago. My apologies if it was offensive

“And one day I will find this miracle guy, and he will be my love boodle.”
          Peace, Love, and Baby Ducks.

        • HAHAHAHAHAHA! That’s hysterical. Derogatory or not, I had never heard the term. At first I thought maybe she meant “Poodle” instead of “Boodle.” Based on your research, I think I would rather be called a love poodle LOL

    4. Ooh shit Tina! You are one foolish woman, that was really a very dumb thing to say.

When you claim to love somebody, see her as the love of your life, you need to give them a chance to explain and what is that with that script? Is that the one those bastards were after for?

Great update! Can you please update again asap? !

    5. I was absolutely sure that intensifies the drama!
but Tina, it was already too much. She says, she loves Bette, but if she isn’t so confident in the love of her life, then there is big trouble.
      Maybe she doesn’t deserve it.
