Tina was silent. 

Tina bent down so her mouth was centimeters from Bette’s ear. Tina’s breath tickled the hairs on the back of Bette’s neck. Bette braced herself for impact. She didn’t know what Tina was about to do but if her lips touched any part of her, she wouldn’t be responsible for what she did next. 

Bette waited. 

“Do you think our situation can be changed?” Tina whispered into Bette’s ear. 

Bette slowly turned over into Tina’s chest. Their noses almost touched. Tina cradled Bette. Bette looked into Tina’s eyes. Searching each fleck of hazel. Her head rested on Tina’s right breast. The perfect pillow.

“Do you think our situation can be changed?” Bette vollied the question back to the blonde with sunflower eyes.

Tina sat back just a little. She was too close to Bette’s mouth. 

“I hope so,” Tina replied.

“Me too.”

Bette could not believe she was in Tina’s arms. It had been months. She missed them being…well…them. Tina smiled at the woman looking up at her. 

“It’s your turn,” Tina said.

“It’s my turn to what?”

“Julia said to go on a date, hold hands and tell each other something we’d never told each other before. We went on a date. We held hands. I just told you about my crush on Michael J. Fox and my grandmother and our shared love of Back to the Future. So. Now. It’s your turn.”

“Hmmm. Okay. Let me think.”

Bette closed her eyes. Tina looked at the beautiful woman in her arms. She knew this face. She had memorized every inch of it years ago. Tina licked her lips just as Bette opened her eyes. Tina blushed. Bette smiled. 

“I fell in love with you the moment I turned around and saw you. It was literally love at first sight.”

“Really?”

Bette nodded, rubbing her ear over Tina’s nipple. Tina bit her lip. Bette smiled.  

“I didn’t realize it was love until a few weeks later. But yeah…I was hung up on you from the start.”

“You never told me that. I knew you wanted to kiss me the moment we met.”

“I wanted to do more than kiss you.”

Bette shrugged. Tina blushed.

“So. Wait. You’re saying you fell in love with me that first night?”
