    “I know my love.” Bette kissed Tina’s cheek. “I’ve always loved that fact that you feel safe in my arms.” “I do hon, I do.” Tina kissed her wife too. “And I kissed you when I woke up for letting me doze for a bit.” “So 30.” “Then we kissed when we left the living

    “I know my love.” Bette kissed Tina’s cheek. “I’ve always loved that fact that you feel safe in my arms.”

    “I do hon, I do.” Tina kissed her wife too. “And I kissed you when I woke up for letting me doze for a bit.”

    “So 30.”

    “Then we kissed when we left the living room. And I gave you a kiss when I was brushing my hair. And after I brushed my teeth.”

    “Up to 33.”

    “And then…”

    “And then?” Bette quirked her eyebrow knowing what was coming next.

    “Well we got all comfy in bed and….”

    “And?”

    “And we got really up close. Really up close.” Tina rubbed her hand over Bette’s right knee and gave her wife her signature sexy smile.

    “Focus Kennard. Focus.”

    “I’ll remind you of that tonight Mrs. Focus.” Tina chuckled. “Okay, so we kissed and then kissed some more and then some more.”

    “Okay, Mrs. More.” Bette chuckled herself. “How many kisses in our love fest last night?”

    “At least 20 – 25.”

    “Let’s split the difference and say 22. 11 each. Cool?”

    “Cool Porter.” Tina grinned. “So totals hon?”

    “Let’s do the quick math.” Bette looks down at her notes and adds up the list. “Looks like 55.”

    “Round up and decide on 60.”

    “Agreed.” Bette glances at her wife. “So that totals to 152 a day on average.”

    “But that’s just a day when Angie’s home.” Tina points out. “What about when we’re kid less for the day?”

    “So to make it easy, how about we say 160 average a day?”

    “That works.”

    “Okay, so now the calculation of all the days we’re been together since we had that fateful first kiss.”

    “Okay Yalie, do the math.” Tina grinned at her wife.

    “Ha, ha Kennard.” Bette makes a few more notes. “Let’s do this babe.”

    Tina looks over her wife’s arms and regards her notes.

    “So it’s 2014 and we’ve been together since 1996.” Bette does that math. “That’s 18 years.”

    “Minus the 3 we were apart.”

    “Yeah, well, we may not have kissed every day in those years, but we still kissed some days. And some more than others.”

    “So,” Tina’s did a quick assessment too. “How about for those years we assign 10 per day for those years?”

        This story actually stemmed from a scene I was going to include in another short story. This was marked to be just a paragraph in that story & then I thought – ‘this could be more than just a couple of sentences’.
        So I flushed it out more & tried to give it a light, funny side.
