THE VAMPIRE AND THE SLAYER- Chapter 6: THE PYTHONESS

Louise: (looking maliciously) “I see that bandage with a flower drawing.”
Tasha: (red-faced) “ha…, she’s a piece of work, but deep inside I think she’s a good girl.”
Marina: (coming from behind and smiling) “you should be careful with those good girls.”
Nicky: (entering the conversation) “many good girls…, especially in bed.”
The four women laughed, but Tina, Lara, and Dana who were closely talking turned to them with serious looks.
The conversations were interrupted by the arrival of three women.
Tasha: “oh, here they are…, Phyllis Kroll, thank you for coming…, let me introduce you to the girls over here.”
They made the introductions; Phyllis was the shamanka, famous among the witches of the north, she usually work in New England where she resides. Her daughter, Molly, lives in San Diego and used to pass half of her time here in the covenant. Then, Samantha Makavejev was introduced; Sam is Phyllis’s assistant and is almost ready to set up her practice, she is a descendant of the Kumeyaay from her mother’s side.
After breakfast, all the presents gathered at the center of the pentagram where now a fire was set.
Phyllis and Sam, made some spells blessing the place and spread some perfumes and juices of local plants, collected by Molly and prepared by the members of the covenant.
The Shamanka opened a bag made from animal skin and took two daggers and a small bag with stones. She crossed the daggers at the center of the gathering. Taking a handful of stones, threw them in her front. Sam was taking notes. Phyllis threw the stones twice more, closed her eyes, and taking her hands to her forehead went into a kind of trance. After almost fifteen minutes the pythoness opened her eyes and spoke.
Phyllis: (speaking to everybody) “two years, six months, and fourteen days, Friday night…, right?”
The vamps in the group were amazed; it was exactly the time when they were attacked.
Phyllis: (no waiting for answers) “yes, it was in a…, museum? A gallery? Hmm, many people, among them a woman, a very bad woman, and that man, evil undercover.”
Again Phyllis went into trance, this time was fast.
Phyllis: “they’re looking for money…, hmm…, a jewel? Power…? Not…, a young woman? It isn’t clear…”

Alice… Alice…. no one promised to make you human again. They purposed that they would make your life better – stronger, and abilities to escape some of the problems of being a vampire… but they never suggested that they could cure you… so as Phyllis say – take the offer or leave it.. Sounds like an improvement of your current life to me. So I’d go with the flow and accept this ritual….
Thanks for the update… look forward to more.
