THE VAMPIRE AND THE SLAYER- Chapter 6: THE PYTHONESS

Tina: (with tears on her face) “Bette, my love, please say something.”

    Bette: “what happened?”

Tina hugged the brunette and kissed her face again and again.

Tina: “I think you passed…, what did you feel?”

Bette: “I’m not sure; we’re having fun and making love, but then I felt my heart becoming empty, my mind blank, I feel fury and fear at the same time.”

Outside, a wounded Tasha has finally impaled the critter now transformed into a pile of ashes.

    Marina: “are you okay?”

Tasha: (bleeding from a shoulder) “yeah, just some scratches, I’ll be fine…, Louise, check on Bette and Tina’s tent”

Tina was dressing Bette and herself when Louise, outside of their tent, asked them.

    Louise: “are you fine?”

Tina: “I’m okay, but Bette passed out, she’s better now, what happened outside.”

Louise: “let me in, we have to talk.”

Louise called Tasha to the tent, while Marina stayed vigilant of the campfire, which has to be kept on.

Bette: (addressing Tasha) “what happened to you?”

Tasha: “it’s nothing; now tell us, what happened here?”

In silence, Bette and Tina with a little embarrassment looked at each other.

Louise: (understanding the indecision) “about Bette blacking out.”

    Tina: “oh…”

Tina and Bette told the others their experience after the cracking was heard, and Tasha and Louise spoke about the critter and the drawing of the dark planet.

Bette: “do you think that creature is connected to my fainting?”

Tasha: “I’m sure there is some connection, but we’ll see tomorrow when the shamanka, the great pythoness comes.”

Louise: “you said three women will come, who are the others?”

Tasha: “Molly, Shamanka’s daughter, and Samantha, her assistant, will be with us the rest of the journey, now the best thing to do is to rest, the dark pillar is chained, and no creature can break it.”

Tasha and Louise went to each tent to be sure everyone was safe.

The next morning, Nicky and Lara woke up early to prepare a concoction and special bread from herbs and seeds for everybody.

Again, there was no animal meat or blood on the menu, all food was made from natural vegetal from the surroundings.

    Louise: “how is your shoulder?”

Tasha: (smiling) “much better, apparently my roommate has medical abilities.”

    1. Alice… Alice…. no one promised to make you human again. They purposed that they would make your life better – stronger, and abilities to escape some of the problems of being a vampire… but they never suggested that they could cure you… so as Phyllis say – take the offer or leave it.. Sounds like an improvement of your current life to me. So I’d go with the flow and accept this ritual….

Thanks for the update… look forward to more.
