“Bette.  I forgive you.  I realized that even though your affair hurt me I did more damage to us than you could have possibly ever done” I say without the slightest hesitation and being brutally honest

She gives me a weak smile and her eyes are glistening with tears. Even now she is so beautiful.  I was so dumb to ever walk out on her.. But if I hadn’t I don’t think I would have come to this very point in my life where I finally see the destruction I leave in my wake.

“I think we had a bit of a breakthrough here don’t you think?” I say offering a genuine smile and I see her lips curl into a larger smile than the one she was previously displaying.

“Yeah.  I believe we did” she sighs and looks down at Angie “We should be getting back.  I need to get her bathed and fed before I have to get ready” she says and looks at me “And I’m going to say here as planned.  I think I have Helena wanting my help”. She looks at me in shock “Can you believe that?”

I can’t help but chuckle “Well my God..She flat out refused any of our interventions but you have always had this way about you Bette”

She raises her eyebrow at me “What way?”

“You have this commanding presence when you walk into a room and capture people’s attention and you have a power of persuasion.  Helena obviously saw that because otherwise she wouldn’t have entertained the idea”

She shakes her head in disbelief as we get up from the bench.  Angie still out like a light in Bette’s arms

“She’s pitiful Tina.  I never thought I’d see the day that Helena Peabody would cower to anyone.  Whatever this Catherine woman has done to her I am going to undo”

“Wow Bette.  It’s so funny to hear you say that about Helena.  I mean you hated each other”

She shrugs as we approach the car and she opens the passenger side door to place Angie in her car seat and strap her in

“There is no love lost between her and I but when we all kind of deserted Alice because of her crazy psycho antics after her breakup with Dana she was the only one that stepped in and was a true friend to her so I intend to do whatever I can to help her.  I now see she was never the devil reincarnate I made her out to be”
