    My thoughts should be on Jodi and the talk I am going to have with her but I can’t help but think about Tina and the fact she isn’t marrying Henry.  I really thought she had moved on and Henry was who she had wanted.     I compose myself as I pull into Kit’s driveway and park. I’m not sure if Jodi is even back but I don’t think I want to put this conversation off if she is. Kit is here and I know she is going to grill me about me being with Tina today

    I get Angie out of her car seat and she finally wakes up and groggily looks at me “Mama B”

    “Yes sleepy angel.  Let’s get you inside and see about getting you something to eat”

    She lays her head back on my shoulder as I open the door and walk in.  I see Jodi sitting in the living room on the sofa and Kit in the kitchen as she comes over to take Angie out of arms and gives me a look that says I am about to have this conversation with Jodi.  Apparently she has been thinking about this to

    “Hey baby girl.  Let’s go get you cleaned up and get something to eat” Kit says as Angie nods and I watch as they disappear down the hall. I turn and smile at Jodi as I walk toward her

    “How was your day?” I sign to her

    “It was good.  I got to watch Vivian give a lecture to one of her classes then spent the rest of the time in her studio watching her work on the sculpture”

    I take a deep breathe sitting down beside her and we both turn to each other

    “I’m sorry Bette.  I should have told you about me not believing in monogamous relationships in the beginning” she signs and I sigh

    “Yes.  You should have” I sign to her and was about to continue but she motions for me to hear her out

    “I am not changing who I am or apologizing for that but I should have told you.  And I do love you and enjoy being with you and you have become a special person in my life but I can’t say if I will ever want to make this.. what we have..permanent” she signs and waits for my response.  Her eyes fixed on mine and I can not see any of the intensity in them that Tina gave me today.  I see nothing but emptiness.  This hurts me as I thought I meant more to her than this but here it goes

    1. Such level headed rational thinking by everyone – Bette, Tina, and Jodi. Wonder if Henry will respond in the same way? Jodi is going back to New York. Bette and Jodi have broken up. Tina and Bette have accepted their own roles in their break up. Time to start anew… Just as soon as Henry knows what’s going on.

      Bette and Tina had a honest talk and a breaktrough, they can finally move on and the best step is to build their friendship first before they can move forward into a relationship.

      Amical end of the relationship between Bette and Jodi, good that they had the talk and were honest. Have a good flight back to NY Jodi!

      Henry, he will not be amused and probably not response that well when Tina breaks up with him.
