Bette: [now worried] For what?

James: That voice you just heard was Mr. Zao.

Bette: [hearing the name the color quickly drained immediately from her face]

James: He flew here all the way here from China to convince you in person to accept the job offer!

Bette: [finally remembering quickly stands to her feet] OH SHIT! THAT’S TODAY!?

James: Exactly, OH SHIT! AND YES IT IS TODAY! So, what I need for you to do is evict yourself temporally from the Heartbreak Hotel, get dressed, throw some water on that chia pet you call hair, and GET IT TOGETHER!

Bette: I can’t believe you made me forget!

James: Me!? Oh, this is my fault!?

Bette: Hey, I need someone to blame!

James: Oh, here’s a suggestion start with yourself!

Bette: [now pointing at him] In the words of Mike Tyson, “Don’t pith me off!”

Bette: [kicking of her shoes] Okay….okay!

James: I’ll stall him for as long as I can! [he says before closing the door behind him]

Bette: [talking to herself] Seventh week into the New Year and my life already sucks! I’ve officially declared January and February free trial months, my 2018 officially starts March 1^st!

Although, the producers weren’t happy about it they realized it was in the best interest of the show and her future employment, and granted Alice two weeks paid vacation. Her frequent calling in, bullshit excuses for not showing up to work, showing up to work but mentally being somewhere else had taken its toll on the entire staff. Her recent behavior was not like her at all so whatever was going on with her they sincerely hoped she figure it out in the next weeks and return to work refreshed with a clear head. But as she sat submerged in her bath tub, it was difficult to sort through the million and one thoughts running vigorously in her head. Eyes opened or closed it was hard to shake the hurtful look on Lara’s face. It was like it was embedded in her mind as some sort of punishment for the bad decisions she’d made recently. What seem to bother her most, was the same look Lara had on her face was the very same look she had when Dana broke her heart years ago.
