Happy to oblige, Bette lowered her head to feed Tina the deepest kiss, the sound of the doorbell stopping her just before contact. A quick glance at the clock on the nightstand told Bette that the interruption came just in time, having spent too much time in bed they were close to missing their reservation.
“Saved by the bell, beautiful”
Before Tina could even object, Bette pulled away before getting off the bed entirely. The blonde groaned as a response, “Can’t we just ignore it? Things were about to get really good”
Bette chuckled as she sauntered over to the bathroom, ensuring her hips swayed more than usual. “Not a chance. I made reservations and if we don’t hurry, we’re going to be late. It’s a special day you know”
Tina rolled her eyes with a smile aware that Bette’s interpretation of that particular day went far deeper than the obvious. It was Tina’s birthday but it was also the day that changed the entire course of their relationship. The memory brought a smile to Tina’s lips, her jealousy at seeing Bette with her “friend” being the trigger that led her to give into her feelings for Bette.
The doorbell rang again, pulling Tina from her thoughts.
“You still here, lazy?” Bette called out from the bathroom. “Go get the door”
With another smile and roll of her eyes, Tina slid off the bed and righted her dress.
“Don’t worry” Bette stuck her head out of the bathroom, stopping Tina before she could leave the room. “We have all night to finish what we started. The moment we come back here, I’ll have you screaming my name”
A shiver passed through Tina as she smirked at the mischievous brunette, watching her retreat back inside the bathroom. With Kit watching Angie for the night, they did indeed have all night to themselves. As much as loved being with her daughter, Tina also enjoyed the alone time she shared with Bette. Thoughts of what was to come made Tina buzz with anticipation.
She made her way to the front door, completely at a loss for words at the sight on the other side.
Her eyes took roamed over her drunken ex-husband who had to lean on the door frame for support. Her nose scrunched up in disgust as the strong smell of liquor filled her nostrils. His clothes were disheveled, his stained dress shirt wrinkled and untucked while his tie hung loosely around his neck.

About the chapter, Kevin is a nasty piece of ass.
I don’t understand why Tina didn’t tell the truth who was at the door.

I understand why Tina tried be friends with Kevin, but i think she need to stop be so naive about him. She alredy understand it, after his drunk appearance, but maybe it’s too late – he’s already made his plans about Angelica.

I think that Kevin, how stupid he is, understand that no judge gives him custody of Angelica. So i think he might to try another, illegal way to take Ange.

So glad Tina got wise to his lil game to win her back. After ABANDONING Tina and Angie and having NO RELATIONSHIP with his child, I can’t see a Court giving him any rights…he would have to have supervise visitation at best.
I love the way Tina Reassured Bette that she is her ONE AND ONLY!!!
Great birthday dinner with the Bracelet and the understanding that a proposal is coming one day…cute! I wished she would have told Bette about Kevin showing up drunk and looking to reconcile, but I understand NOT wanting to ruin their time together after a tough couple of weeks. I know Bette is gonna lose it when she finds out what Kevin is up to. She is very protective of Tina and Angie!
Glad you are feeling better, I had bronchitis in December it is hard on the body…the coughing alone make you so tired and sore. Take care and take all your antibiotics!

Ugh. Kevin is grinding my gears lol! I wish he’d just disappear and let Bette take over as the second parent role officially. Seems as if she has anyway. Ohhhh and I hope that’s a foreshadowing of a soon-to-be proposal! Love your stories. :)

Any chance u would make a sequel out of “as good as it gets” and continue with “never say never”? I am curious what kind of life does Tibette have with Tina become a famous singer and bette as a famous producer in as good as it gets or how Tina could finally fall in love with bette in never say never…i have to say from all of Tibette’s stories that i’ve read only in never say never Tina and Alice was sister.. and it’s quit refreshing..:D
